  1. I've been having issues with my semi detached neighbour, searched for the topic neighbours, no joy, lots of problems with them, @Bibs hedge and roof, even Hethel has problem neighbours, so perhaps issues with the nasty nearby k..bs could go here. My neighbour moved in about 2 years ago, all good for the first year, then the complaints started, soundbar too loud, I turned it off, cars too loud, (we do have loud cars), we were as carful as is possible. I have a lwb Tansit which is normally parked on the road outside my house, it just about fits and I'm careful not to encroach over the imaginary neighbours boundary without blocking my own drive. She has a driveway, and a miniature Chevrolet Matiz, a couple of months ago she started parking on the road in the middle of the two houses so I can't park my van. Several times I politely asked her to move up a bit, finally met by "oh for fu**ks sake", to which I answered "you know I have a van, if you parked considerately I wouldn't need to bother you", Anyway that's when it all started. She now parks as far back as is possible level with the middle of the dividing wall, she's complained to the council about our music (only ever on between 10am-5pm), after screeming at my son out of her bedroom window she called the police about his car (it's an Evo 9 and is load). This Friday I snapped,I came around the corner in the van to see her jump in her car, I thought see was going out, Oh no...She had come out to reverse back in front of my house to stop me parking. I laughed at her and called her a few choice words, to which she started screaming back, she was drunk, all the other nice neighbours were out having a snigger. Anyway I called plod, just for a crime number, the reason she moved next to me was because she fell out with her neighbours.
  2. Flywheel and new (reconditioned)AP racing twin plate clutch (thanks Mr Sekinger) fitted. The old shaft used for alignment. A couple of Helicoils required and a couple of new dowels (those were missing from the original iron bellhousing). Transaxle now attached.

Get well soon Gary...enjoy those fluffy pillows and peach crumble.😷
  4. Does anyone remember the film/series "Logans run" produced mid 70's? It's 2274, and on the surface, it all seems to be an idyllic society. Living in a city within an enclosed dome, there is little or no work for humans to perform, and inhabitants are free to pursue all of the pleasures of life. There is one catch however: your life is limited and when you reach thirty, it is terminated in a quasi-religious ceremony known as "carrousel". Some, known as "runners", try to escape their fate when the time comes, and it's the job of Sandmen to track them down and kill them. IMO they had it pretty much spot on. It isn't fossil fuels or global warming that's destroying our planet, its us humans. Our success as a species is overwhelming the world on which we live, we are like a cancer multiplying whilst devouring our host. We need to be "carrouseled", maybe 30 is a bit young, but what use are we after 70?
  5. The flywheel is off for a skim at Dave Yandells tomorrow, I was a bit worried about having the weight of the transaxle dangling on the new one piece input shaft, so have knocked up a skate to precisely slide the shaft into its spigot.
  6. Not yet, now it's off the engine stand I have access to the other end for rear crank seal, flywheel needs a skim, then a new clutch, it's all expensive and I'm not prepared to cut corners or borrow to finance it. It'll just take as long as it takes.
  7. 3d printed drill guide with a steel insert, Scary stuff to think about, much easier in practice.
  8. At last, a dry day without prior arrangements, quick fetch the crane... Onto her new little trolly, and down.
  9. On the RHD V8 the main earth for the instruments is a 6mm cable from the scuttle beam above the passengers knees, exiting through a grommet in the passenger footwell and earthed to the chassis on the rear of the LH shock turret. This may or may not be mirrored on the LHD V8
  10. There has been much debate regarding earthing issues battery condition etc causing poor starting issues. But one thing we often forget, is the time it takes for the ECM to read the new information coming from the various sensors, and allow it time to adjust the associated pumps and valves accordingly for optimum starting.
  11. Its just a matter of personal taste. Porsche performance Ferrari sound in beautifully sculpted coachwork with the quality and comfort (and especially the smell) of a Bentley. That's an Aston, What's not to like!!!
  12. It looks like the plughole after my son gets out of the shower.
  13. So is this the Exeter chiefs or the squalls, or is it wrong of me to differentiate? I just presumed as they were wearing the girls kit. Of course it's difficult to tell these days...
  14. Getting my 24's and 25' mixed up. It's in the diary.
  15. Are we sure about this date chaps. Unusual for it to take place on a Friday, add to that a a previous comment which suggests it clashes with the Matford car show which is on Saturday 9th March. I missed it last year, don't want to miss it again this time.
  16. Because F1 wants to be an inclusive sport... Blue for the boys, Pink for the girls😂
  17. I like the wheels...they look a bit Italian, and lightness has been added by reducing the weight of the wheel nuts. Alfa? Matra?
  18. I agree to that to a point, but if you have a red car that's faded to pink, would you leave it pink for the sake of originality? There comes that point where originality detracts from the overall appearance and reduces value, as in this case.
  19. No wonder the Marcasite company went bust, their black product faded to green in the sunlight within months, it wasn't fit for purpose. Dye it or rip it out and replace the crap with alcantara or suade, IMO keeping a green and black interior in a car which was supposed to have a black interior is ridiculous for the sake of originality of a fabric.
  20. Those grp trims can get fragile and often bodged back into place when broken, the most ingenious one I've seen (which was on an S2), 15mm copper pipe bonded to the inside of the A pillar trim with those white plastic pipe clips screwed to the body.
  21. Hi Darren, Plymouth is a good place to be for working on your Lotus, you may already know this but you have the South West Lotus Centre just up the road in Lifton, they have an Aladin's cave of spare parts, and SJ sportscars a bit further on in Crediton, between them, if they don't have it or don't make it, your out of luck, good luck with the rebuild.
  22. Possibly for manifold vacuum ports.
  23. Did a bit of plumbing this afternoon. PNM turbo hose kit, Roose motorsport high temperature silicon.
