The best bit Barry is that the English get back to work from today. Wages get paid and taxes get made.  And when the English tax take goes up then under the Barnett formula Scotland gets more. So, get of your fecking keyboard you lazy piece of chicken shit and get some more sheds wired up and get your tax and vat bills paid pronto. We need some more free stuff up here so you need to get the work done to pay for it!

Yeah - but I’ve had a taste of the dole life like most of Glasgow - and I’m liking it

If I could drift this topic back a few months, has anyone run out, or has seen on any other media source, anyone that ran out of toilet paper?

I am aware of one guy whose family had purchased toilet paper on a panic buy over time and based on the average 4 person household potentially has enough to last for many years from now. Mice will eat it before he gets to use it all. Should just go and donate it to people, though I am unsure how many people would take it?

Is any European travel realistically possible at the moment?

My car has been stuck with Komotec in Mendig since January. I am desperate to collect it. It would most likely mean flying from London to Frankfurt, train to Mendig, then driving to Holland to get ferry home.  Clearly this is not a life or death emergency journey, as much as it feels like it to me!

Will I get stopped at the UK/German/Dutch border? Will I be forced into quarantine?

I have read all of the official government websites/advice etc, but it is hard to know how things are actually working in practice on the ground.

Anyone got any recent experience they can share?

Thanks!

That's the newest info I can see on it and the border between Germany and Holland is open and wasn't closed with the virus but you'll probably have to quarantine for 2 weeks once you're back in the UK.

My colleague just returned to the UK from Poland by road/tunnel last week. He was asked the purpose of his journey before boarding the eurotunnel - otherwise empty roads,  and no stops.

As he was covering a key worker who is self isolating that was an acceptable reason to travel. I'm not sure collecting a sports car would wash,  but then you'd be fined £60, cheaper than speeding, and they'd send you home. You might meet a lot of disapproval though. Round here you'd probably make the front page😀

Yeah but the crisps on sale at the petrol station in mendig are superb. And a nice gentle walk round the park there would help your fitness levels no end.

Forums been a bit quiet today. Guess everyone in England has gone back to work then. See, the advice was simples really. If you live in England go back to work early to get the economy going so those of us in the United Colonies can get more stuff for free!

At least it's paper not polystyrene. The chip shop at the bottom of town here used to do takeaways in yellow polystyrene clam boxes, and on Saturday and Sunday morning there would be drifts of them  by the riverside. I think once it's seen as normal  a lot of people think it's ok. I asked the shop nicely if they could do anything and they told me to get stuffed. 😂 what was I expecting?? Luckily there's another chippy up the high street,  wraps in paper and doesn't have the littering problem.

One day soon we will be allowed to go get chips in Wales!👍
