As far as I remember from Goodwood (and assuming nothing has changed since for production-spec cars), the UK front plate mounting plinth (it's a 2-part assembly where the mounting plate is market-specific) is no more than an inch, or maybe two inches (one at each end!), shorter than a full-size UK plate....

First impressions, the car has presence, considering it’s the same price as say my 90 defender it feels very special

the interior is perfectly acceptable feel and quality, the kef audio more than needed.

it’s very bright sunshine today so the screens not the easiest to see but CarPlay is easy to see and use

driving, firstly I am no jethro, most of my previous cars are 4x4 and diesel so my expectations are modest, but my touring setup with Goodyears gives a excellent ride on Shropshire country lanes, I’m old and lazy so used to modern auto boxes, but following advice I have read, slow positive gear changes are the way to go, I have a speed bump on my drive and it’s not an issue loads of clearance.

so no fast driving yet but I see no problems using it as a daily driver and  I envisage ample performance for uk roads

Basically it looks way more expensive than it’s is, the dynamics are more than adequate and it’s very cheap to insure and probably not too expensive to service and it’s not a Porsche😀

Re. servicing/recalls etc where exactly is your nearest Lotus dealer in deepest, rural Shropshire?

Just curious as I used to know the area well (brought up in Herefordshire) and still love that part of the world.

Alistair can offer his thoughts but FYI, this new area of the factory is lit specifically to detect swirls and holograms in the paint.

Driven a seven when it was new and an old elan

ducan from Autoshine will give the verdict on the paint, but looks good to the untrained eye

only thought so far is the car has patches of PPF in high ware areas and someone has used a polish with a white residue to polish the car and it makes the edges of the existing PPF very visible, but that will be sorted , I think this car needs lots of PPF

delivery man said it came with a ceramic coating, hope this is easily removed

they are as excited as we all are,  can I just say thanks to them all, they have just been acting on info provided by lotus management and providing as much info as they know to us customers

any case I’m pretty much done with my delivery and hoping to see lots more deliveries to others …soon
