Decal colours

I have an S3 NA (early 1984) in Calypso Red. Can anyone tell me the matching "ESPRIT" decal colour for Carnival Red (L42)........ was it gold or black? Or was it a customer choice on vehicle order placement?

I think it was probably customer choice.  I think I've seen silver on a red car as well as gold & black.

On Excel, decals sometimes matched interior trim colour. I had a white car with blue leather, decals were blue. I've seen a white car, red leather, red decals.

I always thought gold wheel centres and gold decals, black wheel centres  black decals

My black S1 has gold wheel centres and white decals
