A friend of mine I've known for just over a year has had 10 cars in that time. Another friend has 22 at the moment and I, despite driving for 20 years and commuting 45,000 miles/year for 7 years have had about 15 cars, ever!

Worked for a company that was part of GM for many years till they sold it off. We all had Vectras that we had to return before they got more than 8k on the clock, so I typically had 3 a year and must have had posession of well over 50 adding in all those.

Normally Aspirated - and lovin' it!

Since learning to drive at the age of 17 and my first 1938 Austin Big 7 in 1960 I have owned in excess of 40 cars. This does not include any company cars and also does not list a couple that we bought and sold very quickly.

Just had a quick mental skim through and came up with something in the mid 20s. Surprising really given that I tend to buy what I like but then keep them for ages. Obviously having a few at the same time bumps the numbers up a bit :w00t:

I have owned nearly 50 automobiles in my life time so far. The maximum at one time had been 16. I now have settled into a comfortable 11 on hand. Ranging from the years of 1931 to 2008. I similar to Mike ( MPx ) have the tendency to run them for some time. There have been some I have gotten rid of and regretted and others where I regretted having gotten rid of them.

I tend to buy them with something wrong and then end up selling them when they work fine and I have run low on money. So I suppose regretting selling most of them. Trying not to finish the Esprit or it will be gone when I'm skint!

Owned 4 in the first 10 years of driving and 16 in the last 4 years.

We have been a two-car family for a long time but I have counted only the cars I have owned, rather than leased, for my use, not the family cars.

S4 Elan, Elan +2S, Federal-spec, World Championship Edition S2 Esprit #42, S1 Elise, Excel SE

previous -call it my "wild time":

(used) '91 Opel Kadett 1.4L 60 HP -5 door, 4 speed manual

current -as more focussed on fixing things instead of silly cruising without a destination:

(used) '98 Ford Scorpio 2.5 TD 125 HP -estate car, 5 speed manual, LHD

(used) '98 Lotus Esprit V8-GT 354 HP -coupe, 5 speed manual, LHD

(used) '99 Lotus Elise S1 111 122 HP -coupe, 5 speed manual, LHD

(nn) '89 Cobra-kitcar 194 HP -roadster, 5 speed manual, LHD

..so with only 5 cars since 1994, (and never bought an new one out of the store) you can call me something like 'modest'

But anyway, would like to add a Ducati 916 to my collection :scooter:

A friend's dad I know has had over 140 BMWs, he averages about 6-9 a year, and tends to keep at least 3 going at a time. The good thing though is that he actually drives them all, and also has perchant for vintages - he's currently got a 1905 Wolseley and a 1915 Napier.
