Extended shakedown to Ibiza

Took the Esprit along to Cars & Coffee at Bremont HQ in Henley for its first meet today. Was fascinating to see all the in-house manufacturing they do on site first hand

 

I got a superb parking space right by the entrance

Only one other Lotus present, a fellow Esprit owner.

 

Here is a sample of some of the other cars that caught my eye, for one reason or another.

 

I didn't realise until near the end that you could actually go into the BA 747 cockpit outside the entrance

Was surprised to climb inside it and not find it completely gutted

 

Probably the one and only time I'll see my Esprit from the cockpit of the queen of the skies!

I was about to post this one instead:

 

The S1 is going in for the 1000km oil change after the full engine rebuild tomorrow. Means I took it very easy on that lap (the brakes also don't feel up to the task of a fast-ish lap in my opinion). And then it should be ready for the roadtrip to FOS mid next week ✌🏼😀

Not sure if this has been posted here before, but an interesting insight into the early days of the Esprit design

I never realised some of the models had a wooden frame! That's an art in itself.
