Display not big enough for an Eletre, just a small Elise? Not even a current car?

Love the $Lot ticker, as after all, if you wanna buy a new Lotus these days, you need $Lots....

I came into this world screaming and covered in someone elses blood. I'll probably leave it in the same way.

The small print.

My comments and observations are my own, invariably "tongue in cheek", and definitely, sarcastic in nature. Therefore, do not take my advice, suggestions, observations or posts seriously or personally and remember if you do, do anything, that I may have suggested, then you have done this based solely on your own decision to do so and therefore you acknowledge responsibility and accountability (I know, in this modern world these are the hardest things for you to accept) for your actions and indemnify me of any influence, responsibility, accountability, or liability, in what you have done. In other words, you did it, so suffer the consequences on your own!

Being 9.5% down on the first day of listing on Nasdaq will be very disappointing for Geely. Reading the marketing blurb I can’t see the USP. More premium SUV shaped BEVs into a US market that’s already overcrowded with similar and adjusting downwards?
Trump inbound and more US market protection measures likely….

Not worth a punt. A short sellers field day.

You may not have seen the final closing price. Up 2% not brilliant but better than being down. ( I had to paste the link below into a new tab for it to work.)

Considering how Polestar, Lucid, and Rivian are doing, the Chinese economy, and supposedly how Lotus sales are, it's good to just be around the initial offering price. I wonder if investors have confidence in Geely's ability to supply cash and Lotus' already existing factory.

Don't buy Lotus shares for gods sake.

With Trump incoming EV sales will tank as he backs out of all the agreements.

BEV's are tanking in Europe, Germany, Italy and Spain will announce they will not be BEV ready till at least 2035 but more likely 2050.

Anyone going pure Electric will NOT see a positive outcome in the short term IMHO.

Wow. I've worked in tech and that could be any tech company these days, apart from the cars on show. Bet there's fuzeball and free beer as well. Certainly looks impressive and I guess having just raised $700m on the listing they can afford it. But I sincerely hope a good chunk of it gets channeled into the post SUV sports cars rather than fancy offices in expensive locations.

I very nearly puked! 10 years behind the times which are already marching on.

@mdavies it's really easy, I've done it. You just need to borrow your wife's hairdryer. Unless you're one of the boys in that video, in which case you can use your own.

How to create passion.

Do the opposite of what Lotus are doing right now.

Except the Emira. Do that!

Definitely trying to attract the Millennial generation to their offices with play time, free food and presumably limitless duvet days. No mention of wanting anyone new to work at Hethel though, you know that place where they actually get their hands dirty and make the things.

.............. and replacing:

L             O             T             U             S

with:

E             V             O             R             A

In the same Georgia text, naturally.

I feel strongly that how the Lotus name is now being used by Geely, in advertising, in PR, at their style centre locations, eveywhere, does not represent the ethos, the engineering, the ACBC spirit, or indeed much at all to do with what I am proud to drive.  At the same time I prefer that people who see the car have some name to recall - and perhaps recount.

Comments welcomed.

Meanwhile Lotus brings in the popular Chinese menu approach to cars and options

I'd like a number 27, colour 13, and options 17, 34, 41 and 6 please, to go.

A new home delivery service, called "Lets drive", "Hyper Drive" and "Driveryou" will be available shortly.

I'm with @mdavies.  Must get a t-shirt with that printed on it.

So many things wrong with an Agency model. To start with Sales guys aren't targeted so become lazy. Dealers can't earn extra so don't try causing the opposite effect on customer service. There's no incentives to do Fleet as they don't earn anything at all etc etc. Lots of dealer lay offs as well.
