Time to start explaining

Well today - my “friend” was busy collecting items. I’m not sure who’s garage this photo is from - I’m denying all knowledge to her indoors.

Special thanks to some TLF guys who came to my aid here.

@Stuart Monument who supplied me with 3 fronts and a rear. And his Dad Dave who kindly met me in a dodgy transfer at a secret location

@CHANGES who found the one missing rear and supplied me with all the technical help with my boneheaded questions for my new flat pack 3”  stainless exhaust system.

some of the folks on here are damn right amazing - thank you 👍👍.

another chapter opens in the “Barry’s Last Esprit saga” - it’s too cold tonight to start marking the exhaust up for Alun the welder.

I don’t think I’ve got the energy to do another. Hopefully I will be on a building project next year so that will can car capers for next year. 

I shall enjoy titivating this one - it’s the perfect fit vehicle for me - just wish I knew it before. Now I understand why some folks get married 4 or 5 times

Farmyard exotics back in the garage this morning - only for a short while to cut and fettle the exhaust parts with my favourite tool.

Will deliver it to Alun shortly who will stick it all together. The 90 degree bends at the  bottom of the cat section and the tail pipe bits - I should be able to cut them to suit once these bits are suitably fixed. 

We shall see how it turns out.....

Reckon I’ve sourced the centres - very happy bunny.

however - the van has had a slight noise coming on. Owning an Esprit does make the hearing a little paranoid especially when you’ve had a v8. Anyway - reckon it’s a gearbox bearing - common fault at the mileage by the looks online. 2 years old and 35k on the clock 🤬

Get yourself a Vito auto with comfort seats I swear it is the most comfortable ride you will ever have. Nothing has gone wrong with it in 65k and I mean not a thing

Yep they are. Honestly I have only the bonnet to put screen wash in. Got out after this drive as fresh as a daisy

Back onto Esprits

plugged the laptop into the s4s - the abs light comes on when driving - and goes off again when restarted. It only comes on after a short while but you have to be moving - so I’m thinking speed sensors.

jacked up and tested one at a time - front drivers side - shows nothing at all - connections look ok - rings don’t look too bad - so I will order a new sensor and all being well that will be good.

swimming again shortly - so I’ve got a list of bits to compile and place an order with SJ, eBay and rock auto.

Project mission creep cancelled. I’m not doing the suspension rebushing just yet.

ordered a new throttle cable, drive shaft roll pins and abs sensor this morning. This afternoon I’ve found someone to fully strip and refinish the futura wheels. 

Im going to get this car back in one real S4s piece and save the mission creep for when the S4 sells. 

Now off to search the internet to look at Tyres......
