Job one is getting the fans back on an automatic switch. A simple circuit and much easier to fix than a head gasket job from over-heating! The thermostat is an easy swap to rule out weirdness there. Do your fans have a proper shroud between them and the radiator core? Seems odd that on-road airflow will cool but the fans will not. Also confirm visually that all the fans are coming on, not just one or two. Is it possible that the new radiator came with a new fan set-up not up to the task? (pushers rather than pullers/mis-wired/undersized/etc) Several owners have posted pic's of nasty accumulations of road debris lodged between the radiator and condenser, but I would think that would manifest itself under load as well.

No Yaris to be had here in the States, but I did pick up the GR Corolla we are allowed. There's not much else on this side of the pond if you want a AWD turbo hatch with a manual. Fun little car, but don't like the electric steering feel. MY '02 WRX estate weighed the same and held 4 more gallons of gas, and had a spare tire and jack, more rear seat and cargo room and had spaces for gauges and drive lights. But the tinworm ate it.

It's astounding to me how he constantly and brazenly conflates himself with the country or nation; if he is held accountable the nation is at risk! And the GOP just lines up and enables with the line that "If this happens to him, it will happen to you!" Umm, not unless you evade taxes, poke pornstars, cheat your business partners and wives, lie continuously, or attempt to subvert the democratic process. ( well TBH, that last is becoming a favorite for his whole party)

G car headlamp motors
snowrx replied to PhilW's topic in Interior/Exterior/Lights/Glass/Alarms/ICE/HVAC
I've had a relay swap fix bobbing headlights. It might have been just putting in the replacement cleaned the contacts, or an iffy relay, but it's the easiest thing to check. There are some pretty detailed posts on the internal construction/switching of the TR7 motors on the forums. -
Clever. If you notch the handle of the wrench @ tensioner edge, you could leave more of the box end thickness

When you guys say Random, you mean it! Can't think of another car forum with a chocophile fan base😋

RH indicator / dip stalk problem
snowrx replied to AndyWldn's topic in Interior/Exterior/Lights/Glass/Alarms/ICE/HVAC
Perhaps the second pin is part of the stalk pivot mechanism, giving you the excess play? -
Some Esprit content while @GTK has been off Sprinting! Not up to Soup standards though. Hope none of you are using that much sealant on your engine builds!

Dash illumination colour
snowrx replied to POD2100's topic in Interior/Exterior/Lights/Glass/Alarms/ICE/HVAC
In my quest for more lumens, I used bright warm white LED's and can say that they do give a greenish white glow rather than a pure green. Works for me though, and probably closer to the color temperature of the original warm incandescent bulbs. The boost gauge could use a dimmer bulb or some shading. -

The Dimmer on mine was corroded and had higher resistance, making the dim lights even worse! I posted a bit about my LED dash bulbs and dimmer setup if it's any help. PWM dimmer for G-car dash LED's In my battle to see my gauges in my older Esprit, I have been experimenting with LED bulbs. As mentioned before, these don't work well with the factory dimmer. My dimmer was also bad, never going to zero ohms which didn't help matters with the original bulbs. Anyway eBay is awash in these... www.lotustalk.com Brighter bulbs for G-car Smiths Speedo/Tach I can't seem to find bright LED's with a screw base to fit the notoriously dim Smith's Speedo/Tach/Boost gauges, so I set out to modify available stock. You can get 5 x 5050 SMD LED E10 screw base bulbs, and they are brighter than the OEM filament bulbs, but there's only one in each gauge.The... www.lotustalk.com -
+1 on what drdoom said. Mind the vibration failure risk. The senders aren't light, the engine's buzzy and any adapter in the stack is most likely going to have sharp cut threads ready to start a fatigue crack and just ruin your day, someday. My plan if I eventually went electric was to do a custom galley block, but my engines very different anyway.

A search should come up with lots of sensor geometries. You are packed in with the dizzy, manifold and starter. An angle fitting or tee could give you the orientation you want. Even a large sender could be fitted with short braided hose to wherever there's' room, similar to the turbos' oil feed line. The galley block is pretty simple and could be drilled from stock with any direction you chose for the fitting(s), and even tapped with a more common thread than the BSP, saving you adapter space.

I'm even nervous about driving a new car home on PS4's at this time of year. My road and drive have been a snow deck since Thanksgiving.

Given the dearth of spares, you might want to modify your existing mount to replicate Excel V8's upper most mount. Cut out a bit and have a spacer welded on the other end to give you just the alignment you want. When I wanted to convert a single belt for my turbo 910, I fabricated a replacement top half to hold my alternator where I wanted.

I honestly don't know where I could take my Esprit to get work done. For my cars I'd rather buy the tools and learn than trust an unknown shop. I outsource the tire mounting, alignment and paint. I do feel spoiled when a dealer does some recall work on the newer car.

Got my first word-in-one yesterday, was rather disappointed when gold coins did not pour out from under the laptop.

Right color rear louvre and bumpers.

I think you will be hearing from health and safety about this item with all due haste. The sharp metal edges of the handle clearly need some sort of chamfer or edging to protect the hand from cuts, especially while carrying heavy batteries.

Looks like your coolant recovery tank, bottom hose goes to cooling system header tank, top probably a vent out the trunk floor for if it overflows.

@Escape, I had a heart attack as well, over here green handles are diesel dispensers.

My wife had a GL wagon when we met. She helped me do the timing belt once. She's now on her fourth Subie wagon, so she'll have to sit though this video. There's a companion youtube piece detailing the build and how Vermont Sports Cars strove to maintain the '80 theme.
