  1. You can of course choose other tyre Brands when it comes to change them. Almost every Car from premium Brands (mainstream brands also in a way) come with 'Taylor Made' tyres. It means that the Tyre as been developped to suite the chassis of the car as best as possible and give the best handling/ride caracteristics following the Brand's DNA. But this Tyre also comply with all the other specifications the Car Manufacturer is asking (Rolling resistance targets, dimension box, Aero, rim protector spec, hydro performance, braking perf, electrical charge dispersion, mileage lasting, countries regulations for different markets, etc...) Rolling resistance being the huge thing as tyres can help massively car makers dropping the CO2 value of their cars. When you buy a replacement Tyre for your car and you don't go for the OE spec, it will not have 100% of the boxes ticked and might as well impact the driving abilities of the car. But you might also get more grip (or other characteristics) because the rolling resistance value will be 9kg/t whereas the Car maker had to have a 7.5kg/t for his OE Tyre to be able to comply with regulations.
  2. @KusaKusa Lotus did already announce in the video about the future projects the 'mid engine' battery configuration for the future sport car platform (Lotus/Alpine)
  3. This car will be. Not 100% like this pictures but close enough. This one is not intended to be the SUV though.
  4. The 400 could already have titanium exhaust as an option
  5. Woww!! All this numbers thrown away and so many people who can't even drive properly and fast 200hp 🙄 Sorry but looking at all this 'big hp upgrades' posts makes me feel like I am on a Nissan tuning Forum..
  6. Tyres also, but chassis/damper tuning is different between the Z4 and the Supra
  7. I'm gonna mark my calendar! What did you just say about +2? 😁 Anyway, I also agree with this statements.
  8. 2 or 3 years ago, The Emira mule car was spotted on Goodyear's test center of Mireval in the South of France, so I had a little clue about the competitor 😜
  9. Carfection are the best. Henry Catchpole clearly always wise and precise in its feedbacks. One of the few journalist you can actually trust for steering feel, road feel, balance, etc... In fact, the only video I have watched about the Emira (apart from Lotus official stuff) after the launch because you know you won't learn anything more elsewhere
  10. Just like on the Evora : top of the rear right wing.
  11. Yep. If you're mentioning France, I'm with you on this 😢
  12. As mentioned on an other post. Tyre business is down to technical aspects and price. Goodyear as probably been better than others on one aspect or maybe both. They had have some rough years recently but they are still able to provide really good products. I will need to drive the car on those to get a proper idea. But anyway, one thing I'm confident with is I don't see the Ride and Handling team in Hethel throwing mehhh tyres on the car. Handling is at the heart of Lotus and tyres are a big part of it.
  13. About the i4, maybe just maybe they kept the power down to 360ish for reliability issues? The engine is capable of more but on a front engine car with a lot of cooling. Maybe cooling is not sufficient on the mid engine configuration? For example, the Alpine i4 engine is capable of more than 295hp but they do have cooling issues once it's placed where it is. OK, gearbox torque figure is also a limiter in the Alpine case but still.
  14. The said Goodyear won't help in the snow 😁, neither the CUP2's 😂
  15. @Timbo999 I do have a M240i as a daily. Great car. Didn't thought about taking an Emira as a daily to replace it, but could be a good way to keep my Evora and spec a more affordable Emira. Anyway, welcome back to the Brand.

    Lotus Emira

Love the car look. But will wait and see if any more 'focused' version are coming in the future. When I bought my 400, the 410 Sport came out a few month later and it was the car I wish I had bought. I don't need more power but something a little less comfy. I turned my 400 into something a bit more like a 410 Sport and love it that way. So we will see what the future brings. Long live Lotus!
  18. The Emira going up the hill at Goodwood is running on the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 Connect with the 'velvet' sidewall marking.
  19. Probably commercial agreements. That's not my part of the business but before working on the Homologation process, Tyre manufacturers are challenged on : Will you be able to reach the targets technicaly and what price per Tyre it's gonna be? Both of this factor are equally important.
  20. Not my work. My wife has been playing with photoshop a bit. I now have like 46 different liveries 😂 She started making some evija like liveries on it, JPS, BRG, etc... Can't upload easily the things now as I'm away for work but she did quite a lot of specs
  21. Watch the carfection video. You can see a picture of it at proto stage in Russel Carr interview (2nd half of the video)
  22. Playing around with some possible paint options in the future ??
