  1. That was me Paul. I got chatting with some non Lotus friends for longer than intended so didn’t join you until you were just on your way out. Next time. Trevor.
  2. It was a little tongue in cheek but on a personal level no, however try thinking wider to all the deposits taken. Trevor.
  3. Ah I see, that’s clearer, thank you Kenny. Graham, yep probably right, not helped by the fact I sold a car end of last year in readiness for a car promised for March this year, then June, then July, now potentially August or September and that may slide too and little communication. I was a little taken back when MW said Lotus would honour their price quoted, all well and good I thought and perhaps should have emailed him saying I wouldn’t be charging interest on my deposit as a gesture of goodwill. One way street. Trevor.
  4. I had an email but was a general email and didn’t mention anything about build or delivery of my car. Not sure they want me as a customer any longer. That’ll be the end of an era and sadly I don’t think Lotus care, what a shame. Trevor.
  5. Both above posts are of course true given differing viewpoint, however, Lotus have under delivered on all counts sadly. I’m not sure anyone is really moaning particularly, just expressing a view and killing a bit of time 🙂 Trevor.
  6. One thing for sure, we may have viewed old Lotus as a cottage industry and tittered at they way they cars were delivered but I don’t recall them ever being this far behind, and there was better communication. We begged for more money to make them efficient in every way. Must remember to be more careful in what I wish for next time 🙂 Trevor.
  7. Is it perhaps that Emira has taken deposits and given sales are direct, then it has effectively been in online showrooms. Remember, there are no “dealer” showrooms now, just agents. Trevor.
  8. Great summary by Chris Harris in that video I think. Obviously not driven the car myself but just how I imagine Lotus to deliver the Emira. Liveable engine in a car that drives exceptionally. Trevor.
  9. I don’t ever remember the clutch on any of my Evora being heavy but did notice the clutch on the red Goodwood car feeling a little weighty/dead. Anyone else have a view? Trevor.
  10. Mike, Very few projects run to schedule and in your case I’m not surprised given the attention it’s getting, fabulous work. Finding time for an oil change runs over schedule in my house 🙂 Trevor.
  11. Nice to see all the progress Mike. I guess completion has slipped back quite a lot from first estimate, how long before it’s all done you think? lovely work BTW. Trevor.
  12. Some straw clutching. Have you tested the resistance when the injector is cold? I assume the reading you got was when hot? I wondered if the ecu sees a feedback from the injector when cold which is correct and says it’s ok to function. When hot it sees a different feedback outside its parameter and therefore can’t cope? if not, I’ll accept points out of 10 for story of the week. Trevor.
  13. I’ve just been reading elsewhere that the Sport suspension cars have Quaife diffs and the Touring spec cars have Torson diff, is this correct? If so can someone shed any light on the reason and setups? Trevor.
  14. I’m glad Harris liked it, shame it was such a short review but I guess as that was filed some time ago it would have been unfair to look around the car properly, not being a full production Emira. Pleasing he liked the steering feel as this is important and no moaning about steering wheel shape that other reviews have. Roll on deliveries. Trevor.
  15. I’ll expect pictures then 🙂 Trevor.
  16. How come you’re at Hethel Dave? Trevor.
  17. Agree with all the above. I think you’re right and it’s for Allthedrivers and also as a long term there will be little to moan about. I just wanted more power and less weight, seems my request got reversed :-). Trevor.
  18. My feeling is the order books were filled because of the cars looks and certainly for early adopters, the expectation Lotus would at least match the HP of the outgoing flagship Evora, 430hp. Personally I was thinking 440-450hp which the engine is capable of with a little tweak of the gearbox to handle the extra. Hence my slightly drooped shoulders at this point. Trevor.
  19. Ha, if that was Sunday, we were there on bikes in the morning and sat at the empty table in front of the Emira. Just my luck, that space was occupied by a 370z at the time 🙂 Trevor.
  20. Is that for me? If so, good question as it’s left me a little disappointed so far. Ideally I’d have liked Lotus to have delivered on time, March, Emira to have followed the lightweight principals of Lotus of the past and the wishes of Gavan for staggered wheel sizes to be worked with rather than same size all round as they look better that way. Minimum of 430hp as per the outgoing Evora and retention of 7200rpm rather than a strangled 6800rpm. Ease of use and better styling are very welcome of course but the car needs to be ahead of its rivals when it comes to driving, that hasn’t come across in the reviews I’ve seen although it’s still good. If I just wanted an easy car with good looks, I’d be happy. Trevor.
  21. I’m sure he’s a nice fella but he mentioned valued customers twice, I certainly don’t feel like I’ve been treated as such. And next to zip going on in the factory behind him whilst switching to views of building prototypes from a while ago. Felt to me like a release to just say we’ve kept to the price we advertised, which is what should happen anyway. We have come to expect and accept price hikes, doesn’t mean it’s right though. Trevor.
  22. Thanks for the heads up Mark, I’ll see if I can pop down for an hour in the morning. Trevor.
