  1. I am currently sorting out my non working digital clock in my S2 Esprit. The connector block for the clock had gone so brittle it was starting to come apart, and the clock has worked previously so I am pretty sure that's my issue. I have managed to source the 6 pin connector block (it was a Lamborghini part, and although wasn't expensive did have a Lamborghini price for what it is) but I also want to replace the wiring to the clock with new, as mine was a total bodge job. I can't however identify the type/name of the pins which fit into the connector block. If all else fails I will re-use my existing, but if possible want to renew. Does anybody know what these would be called? An hour of reverse image and google searching has so far drawn a total blank:
  2. I have had my S2 for 15 years now and am still missing a couple of bits. I have managed to source some hard to get parts recently, so they are out there but obviously very rare. Helps when they are common to the S1 and S3 as well. Patience, tenacity and a bit of luck and hopefully you will come good. Maybe add a full list on here for reference of what you need, and update as and when you get them (some positivity there). As you say at the end of each episode....Good luck!
  3. I had my Evora outside under a car port with an external car cover for over 5 years, absolutely no issues on the car at all as s result. I think the car port was key though.
  4. Hendy Lotus in Eastleigh have now got a larger dedicated Lotus showroom on site. The previous smaller area is now for Maserati. Hope that's a positive sign.
  5. Just sorted the insurance on my two cars with AIB, and thought I would list this as an update on the thread. Both cars on the same policy - Esprit S2 and early Evora -both garaged, just me as a fifty something driving with limited milage on both, no track days - £549 all in for both. That was an increase of £11 over last year, which in their words in the current climate was "incredible".
  6. Totally agree Pete, slightly more important things in the world to worry about. When you hit a pedestrian, make sure its on the drivers side - they will be fine.
  7. I had My Evora under a cover, albeit under a car port for 5 years without any paint issues. Oddly the car seemed happier then rather than being garaged as it is now. I guess the ambient temperature helped in some way.
  8. If Geely hadn't bought Lotus, the company may have gone and Hethel would have been sold anyway - agree that its a concern, but at least its had a stay of execution to prove itself. I would say the Lotus ethos isn't a sustainable model anymore, otherwise they wouldn't be making the sort of cars the hardcore fanbase don't like. Its a weird situation, the Chinese side of things has to exist for the "Lotus" side of things to survive at all.
  9. My speakers had the wires soldered on, so I had to cut the wires to get them out. I would like to make up a brand new section of cable, rather than join the new and old together but given I can't trace the original getting I think that's my only option.
  10. Hopefully a quick & easy question. I am currently upgrading the speakers on my 2010 Evora. I have had to cut some wires to replace with the new speakers, and ideally I would like to re-use all the existing loom connections to save me re-running cables for everything. However, I cannot for the life of me find where to get the connection blocks - see below, anyone know where they can be sourced from? I am assuming the are of Alpine origin but if anyone knows different that would be helpful.
  11. I can't afford to change, but even if I could I am not sure I would. That's nothing against the Emira, I love it but wouldn't want the Evora to go for one.
  12. My best tip for retaining a new car smell is not to use an air freshener of any kind. My Kuga is a year old and still smells like new. Maybe it was the torture of headaches as a child in the back of a car as a result of those horrid air fresheners that looked like a set of traffic lights ( I am sure the older amongst you will know what I am on about). For some reason my parents loved them.
  13. I am slightly worried by how well the Eletre may be selling. Hendy in Eastleigh currently have 16 of them on the roadside which have been there since at least Christmas. I assumed at that point they may be waiting collection by would suspect they are unsold. Hope I am wrong, its a fab looking car.

Trouble is, all the behind the scenes stuff at Red Bull is far more interesting than what is happening on track.
