  2. 1st image - car is LHD - wiper on passenger side. @ 8:21 video is The early Jeremy Clarkson is John Bolster. Car is LHD - @ 23:20 you can see the gear knob and his right hand goes to it.
  3. Paying 10.2% interest, yet bought 3 years ago - when interest rates were around 0%. Guess she had a very poor credit rating.
  4. Please click through to the event below as replies here don't get read.
  5. Yup, it is one of the highlights of year. After last year's clashes with holidays, and so was cancelled, this year it is in June. Please put your name down as soon as possible for this event, and please do not leave it until the last minute as Dave & Megan really need to know numbers. Bring your favourite booze and something to cremate on the BBQ, Dave & Megan will supply beer, soft drinks and salad, bread etc. - I'll be bringing some exotic meats and exotic booze - the more the merrier. Stay over if you want to camp and enjoy a BBQ breakfast. As usual, the address will be sent in a private PM a couple of days before the event.
  6. Someone has installed a double DIN fold out for an Esprit. I use a similar one as @CarBuff when hiring a car abroad (this from Amazon)- and attach a 8 inch tablet to it (big screen, no phonecalls) - using HERE WeGo for everywhere but Europe as it can be used offline with downloadable maps, and CoPilot (paid for) for Europe as I like the view ahead function. HERE WeGo has the added benefit of Android Auto and you can save waypoints in a collection. Used it 100% for my recent 2000 mile USA trip.
  7. That sounds like a clever update.
  8. Never stuck the holder on the windscreen in any car. In my Esprit & Excel I usually stick it on the quarter light - but you have to get the right holder as some will take the phone too close to the steering wheel. I've moved recently to having an adapter to fit into the CD player with a magnet - and a tablet will fit there.
  9. I wouldn't look at SA. It has been going downhill for 20 years, and is a bit of a powder leg waiting to explode. Too many promises of what freedom would be that haven't been delivered. I would look at other bits of Africa, Zambia in particular, this is the current up coming country, have been twice in the last year, and probably back there in May. Would also look at Uganda, where I lived for 11 years, but only once the current regime has changed as, again, it might become nasty.
  10. We heard about it right at the start, since then nothing. There have been TV ads about it on every night during the NCAA basketball while we have been here in the USA.
  11. This being advertised on TV here https://www.buildsubmarines.com/aukus Don't hear anything about it in the UK.
  12. Not got a Dodge Challenger Alamo tried to palm me off with a luxury car, so an Audi. I held out for a Sporty car as paid for. Ended up with a Mustang - but not the V8, which is very annoying. Seen a couple of Challengers so far, much better looking car.

Please don't reply here as no-one will see it.
  14. @Kimbers - yes - you can see that in the longer video I've linked to above
  15. I think that you can see the construction vehicles on the bridge when it collapses. Here's the route the boat took - you can see a deviation at the end. Longer video than showing on the BBC Very fortunate that there were no cars going over at the time of the collapse.
  16. @Brian Harvey has - but for a G car.
  17. It is normally earlier in the month - 2nd Sunday is the target.
  18. This is very interesting for me as when I bought my Esprit in 1987 I had three choices for the budget of £10k I had. S3 Esprit NA 308 GT4 E-type (can't remember which version) There was a house 1/2 mile from me that had an Esprit. One Saturday in May 1987 it was out on the drive, I turned around and pulled up to the house and asked the owner about his experiences with the car. He said that he was looking to part exchanging it for a Mercedes. I asked how much did he want, he said £10.5k. I replied take me for a drive - at the end of the drive I said that I'll buy it - had it ever since. In 1987 turbos were £15k - so I got a bargain. I think that he had been offered £10k trade in value. and just added £500 on.
  19. Sorry to have missed it, but just got back home after the trip to Gatwick Airport followed by hockey umpiring.
  20. It is going to be epic. Hope you take a video of the first startup.
  21. Teachers at my son's school get an "Occasional Day" off in December for Christmas Shopping. Son loves it, really pisses me off.
