I've dipped my toe into BP as well, to be fair it's a little bit of a gamble as the future is not massively in their hands but the price is good, divi is solid and it's a decent risk/reward at the moment.

I'm also loading up as much as I can on Seeing Machines (SEE) they are just getting into production vehicles now and will be the future of collaborative driving as well as in car entertainment/haulage/trains/planes and everything else you can think of. Good news flow recently and right on inflection point IMHO.

FTFY.

You will always get a few chancing bastards that the Insurance companies need to find and prosecute. You also get a larger number of cases that the Insurance companies will try anything to get out of paying for even when the case is legitimate.

It's just a game to them.

I agree I take the piss saying " we cant pay out for that as you had a white t-shirt on and the policy says you should have worn a blue one that day"

I wouldn't invest in any car company or anyone involved with cars right now. technology is moving so quickly and there is about to be a whole explosion of fucked off people learning that their Electric battery packs have only lasted 3-5 years instead of the 10-12 they were told and they want £8000 to replace them on a car worth £3000.

Many of the first "true" production Electric cars like the leaf are now hitting older age and Electric is about to get to be a very difficult thing. Manufacturers that have put all their eggs into that basket are about to have a nasty shock. There are rumours coming out of a couple of companies that they are changing their focus towards Hydrogen cells as more and more things come out about the longer term electric vehicles. None of them good.

We get regular reports and this is a very common thing we are hearing. After 5 years down to 80km range and $15000 to get new ones.....if you can get them.

Indeed. I've always been worried over what's to happen when cars become "appliances" like our phones? Although, when the automakers can figure out how to get us to "upgrade" every couple of years like the phone makers have. It could be a boon for them!

Our old leaf - purchased with 4k on the clock - would do about 100miles on a charge.

when sold with 114k on the clock - would do about 60 miles on the same charge.

yes this issue is very real - and it’s possibly the very next diesel scandal waiting to happen.

Overall, across my entire portfolio (pension, ISA's etc) I am 22% up pre COVID!   Wow. 15 months to retirement.

I must be in the wrong things. All mine are up a little but nowhere near pre-covid levels.

I have gone Diageo and Fevertree. I think people are and will drink more from home for the foreseeable future. Not been bad so far, already up nearly 10% from when I bought them a couple of weeks ago.

I've made a killing on Fevertree, and suspect I've contributed significantly to their bottom line.

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned Bitcoin and other crypto assets. Not really shares are such but similar. Back in March this year Bitcoin was around $4,500 and today it's nigh on $19,500. I don't like to think that back in 2015 it was around $200, even less going further back.

Gold people! Gold!! I bought some sovereigns 5 years ago. They were around £200 each. I looked today and cheapest I can buy new ones for is £320!

Though I did just put some bids in for some in auction at well below that price.

Ah, keep your gold and franki-nonsense :), the crypto markets are on the surge. Did I say $19,500 at the beginning of December? It's been skirting around $29,000 today and may hit $30k by the end of the year. Or it could pop and tank to nothing such as it's volatility.

I've never invested in BTC, don't have the balls as it can be very volatile at best! Just checked the price and it's down 12% today back to close to the above again after getting to £32k!

For the first time since COVD in March my whole Portfolio is back in the green. though some shares like Aviva are still nowhere near where they should be. I am being held up by Reed Elseveer, Legal and general and Fevertree
