Starmer and others can only bleat about what went wrong or didn’t go well. They don’t offer any solutions. Very easy to point out mistakes, much harder to be making decisions with limited information.

Correct, it shouldn’t be a political football, and all parties should pull together to get the best resolution possible.

However the fact that Labour, the SNP and others still want to score politician points just shows how woeful and un human like our politicians really are. Constructive is not a word they understand.

The one thing that Labour are massive,y relieved about is that they lost the GE and don’t have to directly deal with the position that Coronavirus has put the country in. Will they admit this — No, but do they believe this —- Yes I am convinced they do. Much easier to sit back and criticise than to lead.

Have mistakes been made, inevitably yes when dealing with the unknown but, as pointed out by some Ministers, now is not the time for inquisition, defeat the beast first by pulling together and being constructive and hold the inquisition afterwards.

I like that Canada ended the AR-15 bullshit  (like Australia previous did). You don't need an AR-15 to hunt deer. I fear sanity will never happen here with people who want their toys (mine is bigger than yours). Meanwhile senseless massacres will keep on happening.  How will it be interpreted next,  the right to bear bazookas and tanks?

Wow. Really powerful but I feel that both Willie Walsh and Alex Cruz had their hearts replaced with cold granite chambers some time ago so it won't even register with them. If they continue down this route the BA of tomorrow will be nothing like the BA of the past. I do feel for the crew. All of the crew, during these times.

I think he was referring to the exercise rules. Before we were banned from taking the car to another location to exercise. Then it was revised to only driving if the time for travel was significantly less than the exercise itself. From Wednesday onwards, it will be OK for members of your household to drive to another location to exercise as long as you respect social distancing. Also encouraged to drive, walk or cycle to work now, if working from home isn’t possible. Forget public transport.

So, in summary, not a massive change from what we’ve been used to recently.

Maybe. But when out running on country roads I have been passed much closer than 2m drivers with their Windows wound down not considering that they may feel isolated but there's no isolation when the window is open.

This proposed incoming aviation passengers 14 days quarantine restriction is an odd one. Apparently it won’t include passengers from Ireland or France. Why? Are they immune to contracting and spreading CV-19, whereas people coming from other countries are not? Conversely are all UK passengers immune to spreading the virus in those two countries? Weird.

France has been given an exemption in a nod to how they have lifted the requirement for self isolation for visitors incoming from Shengen countries AND the UK!   Please keep up at the back

I find the concept of allowing people to fly here, but then self police their self isolation for 2 weeks completely odd - in fact, not sure this would/could work at all as how do you check as if they come from the EU they don't get their passport stamped on entry.

I'm also struggling with all the negativity from everyone on the BBC this morning (newsreaders/presenters and guests from the NHS, Politicians etc). What is so hard to understand from Boris' update last night and why the fuss around "be alert"? To me I thought he explained it quite well, in that what he said was we were listening to the public, to the scientists and the economists and we are now looking to start to loosen the noose and provide limited increases in freedom of movement including those, like factory workers and others, who cannot work from home to go back to the workplace as long as measures are in place.  I guess he could have emphasised "be vigilant" as opposed to "be alert" but that is semantics really as what he is saying is that as we loosen the noose we need to alert/vigilant to the impact and if infections/deaths spike we'll be locking it down quick.  Quite how politicians like Sturgeon can say "I don't know what he means by be alert" I think says (1) more about her intelligence than mere words can portray and (2) that yet again the usual players (Sturgeon, Karmer et al) are just up to their usual political buffoonery and using the crises to score cheap points.

Listening to Boris in our household last night we all understood the message. No confusion here. Maybe we're just a family of buffoons!

Apparently, the self-isolation thing for those coming into the U.K. will require the person giving a valid address, and random checks will be made to make sure they’re there. Which will probably have the same measure of success as Operation King Canute does in preventing inflatable boats reaching the U.K.
