We need more free stuff. Free stuff costs money. So we print more money. We get more free stuff.

Then when we've printed too much money we need to pay for it so we tax all the higher rate taxpayers even more, attack the pensions they've saved for, as they're all rich c**ts anyway and that way we can keep giving free stuff out whilst we pay for some of the money for the free stuff

Welcome to the circular economy of free stuff

In other words, you did it, so suffer the consequences on your own!

Does all that free stuff come with a lunch?

All we know is that when they stop making this, we will be properly, properly sad.Jeremy Clarkson on the Esprit.

except that the whole circus is accompanied by hyper inflation and free stuff eventually dries up

Our “lovely” neighbours have got some friends or relatives round for a barbecue in their tiny back garden. Also my boys have just seen some school friends out playing together. Looks like the wheels are starting to come off the lockdown. Still, probably following their instincts, so that’s OK then.

I shall blame the bbc - no one else - after all the crap they have been reporting recently.

you can’t blame anyone else - as no one can possibly be held liable for their own actions !!

Only here once

Carnage round my manor due to park visitors whose distancing appears to be very, very social. Car park maxed, council-contracted marshals too busy checking their FB feeds to do anything useful, roads now badly blocked with poor parking. No way is any emergency vehicle able to attend the park.  This is just as busy as any sunny Bank Holiday. Sitting in the garden with gin, listening to drivers gobbing off at each other!

Well - did anyone believe what Mr Cummings said?

With regards to the press - how can they even contemplate taking the high ground when they do this and consider it meeting government guidelines:

I've just been back past the location where the local Covidiots had their party on Saturday and it now looks like this, :realmad: .......................

Just before we went into lockdown, a group of us (dog-walkers) tidied-up the whole woodland area, in the run-up to the Great British Spring Clean, as it was beginning to show evidence of the passage of some of the untidier members of our community. We thought it was bad enough then with the odd discarded water bottle or crisp packet to contend with, but this takes it to a whole new level. How can a dozen kids create so much mess in one night?

Oh well, I suppose that gives us an activity to look forward to once we can all get back together again.

The OP was talking about the "App" which is not the same as the "homepage".

It's big news but shouldn't be. It's big news because the BBC and other media hate DC and sense blood. It's big news because there is fcuk all else news! It's big news because when the story first "broke" the media were so lazy they hadn't even got their basic facts correct, they were more interested in the headline and the "gotcha"

Personally, I think DC has been a complete shite over this. I think he should go. But it does not need 6, 7 or 10 news stories on the BBC FFS.

Clearly DC should go but he has no intention to unless there is continued press/negative public sentiment towards him. Personally I hope the press keep on at him until Boris is forced to do the right thing.

If DC's actions lead to people ignoring Govt advice, and they will, then I think the press are absolutely right to keep hounding him.

If we are locked down again what's the excuse for going out for a little drive.."Oh, officer, I was just checking my eyesight in case I need to drive somewhere, I have an important job dontcha know.."

@PaulCP - It was a jogger out exercising and, as an aside, I doubt they were instrumental in forming the cover-19 restrictions.
