What made me happy..... After last weekend's work, I have an Esprit in my garage and all I need to do is drive it!!!!....... When the sun turns up of course.....

It made me in a good mood today, that despite shootings and bombings in belgium, and many other places, i can still get a few liters of high octance fuel, a few liters of quality oil and start the Esprit and take it out for a drive.

Back from Kazi land and the garage door's are beckoning me to get the S3 out and get the rear wheel bearing done. I have all the parts stashed from over the winter. Now I just need someone to tell me it's and easy job and that will make me happy today.

Got busy with SWMBO and removed the plastic drain grates and cleaned the drain out that crosses the driveway. All nice now.

All we know is that when they stop making this, we will be properly, properly sad.Jeremy Clarkson on the Esprit.

Opinions are like armpits. Everyone has them, some just stink more than others.

Happy bit today. Just taken the Limmo ( insert VW T4 home conversion motor home) for her MOT and passed first time, oh joy. Now just to do the S3 rear wheel bearings and hope for the same result. What the best way of doing them.

I am happy because. Well the sun was out so thought sod it, got to be done sometime. So out of the garage comes the Peril. Dig out all the tools, jack, stands and make ready. The job I have been dreading for months due to what everyone had said had finally come to be done. The rear wheel bearing. So quick read of the manual, go over what all the comments have been about then crack on. I was surprised how simple it was, everything came apart with no problems. Split the shaft and used a neighbors press to fit the old shaft to the replacement hub which I had purchased a few months back complete with new bearing all fitted. Rebuilt again with no issues. Roughly 3.5 hrs and all complete. The fact that a po had coated everything in coppaslip at some previous point was an obvious advantage. So I was well impressed. As for what I thought was a front oil seal leaking, it's not. Usual  cam box gasket has gone and because my garage sits on a slight incline, the oil had been running forward, dripping on to the chassis at the front giving the impression the oil was coming from the front of the engine. So now to order a couple of silicone gaskets and get that done.

Of course as I was a nice day I had to give her a quick blast up one of our back road's, well it's your duty aint it.

Spring time smile factor is wide.

Next is get her a fresh MOT then roads ahoy.

Another Happy day today. Not lotus but hey ho. Fitted the new rear 3 piece bumper to the Limo today  ( insert VW T4 home conversion motor home) and it looks good, complete with new fog warning lamps, one on each side to comply with UK and European roads.
