I watched 20 mins of the first one where they are told to "Get a family Estate and turn up for a series of Challenges". Ohhh I thought, these are my favourite bits in the old shows!

Firstly, I think that only works with more than 2 cars. Secondly, to show how totally out of touch they are they both had cars over £100,000 and predictably these were a Porker and a Ferrari and Thirdly..................BORING!!

Turned it off and deleted them off my hard disk.

Tonights New Top Gear

Really nothing what so ever to do with Motoring but as an entertainment hour..... I surprisingly really enjoyed the first episodes in the new series tonight. Have the BBC cracked it at last I ask myself 😳

Harris (still can’t stand him) Flintoff and McGuiness performed alright imo. It did seem very ‘natural’ and unscripted almost as if they enjoyed it - something really missing over the last 3 years.

This episode gets a thumbs up from me. 👍😊 The BBC had to get the 1st one right,  and imo they have. Let’s hope it continues with car tests and travels with cars and hopefully a lot less of the football with cars.

Love that Mclaren and later in the program also an added bonus of a quality pair of blue shorts 😁

Yup. First in many years that made me laugh. Enjoyed tonight's episode. Welcome back

Going from the Clarkson style humour to the new pair (skip the prevous lot) is rather like going from John Cleese to Peter Kay but I enjoyed it much more than I thought I would.

Having watched Paddy on celebrity juice and take me out, he's naturally very funny and I think this will come across in the series.  Clearly he is the best presenter and will probably be doing a lot of the links direct to camera.

Flintoff is funny but a little bit wooden to camera, although that's fair enough.....he's not a presenter and was fine during normal filming and I'm sure he will improve as the series develops.

I think the theme will be for the two Northern lads to take the p*** out of Chris Harris, so by about episode three, the snowflake campaigners will be saying that he's getting bullied no doubt.

I found myself genuinely laughing too, not happened for a while. Did enjoy yesterday’s show.

Blessed with the competence to be a slave to the incapable.

Currently without a Lotus, Evora 400 Hethel Edition in Racing Green with Red leather and 2010 Evora N/A in Laser Blue and 1983 Lotus Excel LC Narrow body in Ice Blue all sadly gone.

Only caught it from part way into the Ethiopia trip to the end.  Was the first half better?  Looked same old, same old, to me.  I'll give it a miss...but pleased its delivering for you guys.

Loving Lionel and Eleanor......missing Charlie and Sonny

I haven't watched the recent TG, preferring GT, so I thought I would give the new presenters a chance and watch again. First episode wasn't that bad, presenters work well together and as it's been said, with the two new boys ripping into Chris Harris and generally gelling well with each other.

The let down part for me was the tired old format of messing around and then nostalgic bit on a road trip. It would be nice if they came up with something different to what JC, May and Hammond did on TG and are still doing in GT. Would be nice to see more factual stuff, dare I say very old TG style.

Even the McLaren and Ferrari being thrash on the circuit was tired, we know they are fast and handle well, it's what they were designed for, but let's see them being used as a daily, in town, shopping, out of it's comfort zone, stuff regular people do!

I will continue to watch to see how it progresses.

Shopping with a McLaren at Tescos!

I liked this show Paddy presented.

I just watched the new Top Gear. It was fine entertainment with some funny moments. I don't see any format differences to previous series, apart from the personnel. The BBC may well have front-loaded the series with their budget-busting Ethiopia trip and eye-candy Pista v 600LT test in order to get favourable reviews from the off. I expect it will be back to the usual studio format next week. Either way I'll still watch the series.

Loved it. Like the old "We were given £xxx and told to turn up for a series of challenges" bits of the old programs, not done by the last shower of poo.

The road test of a way too expensive super car was normal wank though and fast forwarded through the whole load of crap.

Thought it was ok, Flintoff was just wooden all the way through though. Can’t see him lasting. They need to swap him out for a solid female presenter. I think they’re chasing a unicorn if they think they’re going to luck out on another magical male trio. Mix things up a bit I say.

i started watching it & continued, the last three were terrible & cringey to watch..  these seemed to be much more non staged..

still find CH a bit annoying..   agree that the old format of 3 cars adventure has run its course..  loved the cars though..  mk 2 escort for how much?  how many people went on to south affrica ebay :)

Total and utter garbage! Why Freddie Flintoff? Paddy is just about bearable and Chris Harris is fine.......when he keeps his mouth shut. Not a fan😕

Completely forgot it was starting again. Oh well, maybe next time - or perhaps not.

Oh dear. Once again it didn't even occur to me to seek it out and I haven't felt as though I've missed anything.

Glad I am not the only one who thinks this - but then again I have only watched the first in the series.
