Anyone know a character called Arnoseven on EBay?

Ok so I browse EBay and find what’s described as lotus esprit lower link. I need on for my TE so took a punt as the auction was coming to a swift end. Wrong one. No problem everyone takes returns..... nope not this guy. Says I should have asked which model car it was from. I figure if he knew the answer to that question he would have put that in the listing.

Heres the thing, on his listing he has loads of pictures of SWLC workshop. This is suggesting that he is connected in some way. However he uses a Tonbridge collections and dispatch centre and he is in fact in Holland. Can anyone confirm or otherwise this characters connection with SWLC as I have never had any such problems when buying from them. And to be fair seeing their workshops on the listing did give me a degree of confidence.

This is his name on EBay. Arnoseven...

I'm with you on returns, but it's usually a case of "buyer beware" on eBay.  If the listing states no returns, then you could have a battle on your hands unless the item was incorrectly listed, or different than described.  It might be easier to relist the item yourself and cut your losses?

Got a spare one lying around for an S4 - god knows how that ended up in an order I placed from SJ - but just couldn’t be arsed with the hassle of sending it back

My only comment is that you should never, ever, buy anything, from anyone, on ebay

My missus would absolutely agree with you on that. Especially when I’ve had a skin full

Update.

he has offered some kind of refund minus 12% that eBay apparently charge? But postage is my loss both ways. My concern is the use of SWLC pictures in his listing.

He keeps telling me ask SWLC who he is?

Might have to take it on the chin with this one.

I have bought many many parts on eBay and have never had an issue...

anyone need a bottom link for a late model S4 or later?

Further update...

agreed to a refund plus half of the postage. Return postage is down to me...

I can live with that...

not trying to besmirch anyone’s character but I don’t like being treated unfairly when I’m acting in good faith.

Ebay is what it is.

Personally had some great stuff from some clearly nice people.

And the opposite.

I think its a little like gambling. Never bet what you are not prepared to lose.

(personal note to self. Re-read the above sentence...)

I've just had a look myself and that's definitely not the SWLC workshop. They have no idea who he is?

Just took another look myself and seems I may have had it wrong.... “not the first time”  I hear you say.

Does look a bit like it at a glance from the outside. However apologies arnoseven for misrepresenting you...✌️

The sellers cannot do that now. The can only choose to not give a (positive) review. To me (a buyer only, other than selling a mobile phone many years ago) it does seem unfair that a seller cannot leave a negative (nor neutral) review, even if the buyer has been abusive. unreasonable etc (not that that;s the case here).

I used to sell all the time on ebay. Dealing in Memorabilia and earnt a goodly amount from my own collections I no longer wanted. Not sold for some time but am considering setting up again to deal in Antique Silver that I collect. I tend to buy lots in Auctions then separate those items I want from those I don't. I have so much Silver Jewelery that I need to get shot of, it seems the best way to get a reasonable amount for it.

It will be Arno Huberts. He has been around donkeys years. He always seems to have some Lotus parts for sale. He has his own website/web pages but I don't think he is a "specialist" or "dealer" any more than our own dear Bauke Tocus...

As far as possible I avoid buying car parts on Ebay these days as there is just too much chance of getting the wrong one from the myriad of variations in part numbers. I've had quite a few companies play hardball over returns even when their listings or photographs are misleading or just completely wrong. If its available somewhere over the counter or by a seller I trust to take returns I go there even if its a few quid more.

Totally agree Mark,   the old cars are ok, but buying modern car parts with about 5 variations dependant on model year and even with chassis numbers given you sometimes have to remove a part to confirm it , totally bonkers :(  Never understood how many varitions could happen over a period of a few months  !
