  1. Afternoon all! Anyone around for a May meet ? Equally there is the Lotus day at Castle Coombe on the 27th which I am booked on; is anyone planning on going to that?
  2. I had a good look around an Electre on Sunday - it was Solar Yellow and absolutely enormous! It's a big big car, especially from the drivers seat where you have no view of the bonnet. I don't get the key card thing either, I don't want to hold it up to pillar each time I want to unlock the car - or does it do keyless the normal way as well? However, inside the car, I have to say it was one of the plushest, well designed interiors I've seen. From the materials to the shapes and fit and finish it was excellent but then it should be at its price bracket!! I can see why it is appealing to buyers of this type of vehicle, certainly in other countries like China. What I can't see is that this vehicle really, is going to be of any benefit by being an EV. It has no viable green credentials of merit despite it being an EV once you think about the all new production facility, the oversized vehicle (product) itself and the resulting supply chain and manufacturing...It's just another car for having a top-spec, top-tech car on which to feed the owners egos.
  3. An Alpine then perhaps?! If so great car, always admired those.
  4. Amazing car - they get better and better the more you drive them. I miss mine a lot but lucky enough to have a little Elise at the moment! don’t wait for dry weather, just drive and enjoy 😃😃
  5. Just watched the above video from Bibs on Toyoto's new engine...very interesting, at one point though, the narrator mentioned that for one tank for fuel it will output 50 litres of water (vapour). Can't help but think if we scale this up that means a lot more water in the air and presumably, a lot more rain as a result??
  6. If this is for this Sunday 23rd April - I'll be there!
  7. I thought his driving was fine and he approached it sensibly as it was very busy out there and he clearly was not looking to race anybody. He clearly knows the track really well and has driven it many times. I would suspect if he wasn't commentating he would be going a touch faster. The main thing is he enjoyed it and the car!
  8. The auto box wouldn't put me off if I were in the market, infact I'd have snapped this up if I were - I love the red and silver combo and 'touring' edge to an otherwise epic car. What with all its mods, all I'd do is stick the GRP v4 lights on it and it's perfect! (There's a little bit of paintwork damage to the side air intake in one of the pictures but seems rectifiable on the face of it)
  9. If it was any good it would have answered along the lines of not having driven either of them and so is not at liberty to offer an opinion 😉
  10. I thought the ride look a little firm / bumpy at times but otherwise, this looks like an incredible car to drive and have fun in. I'm not for the looks at the rear at all; I think its awful infact but overall as a car project its a great achievement and that engine is something else entirely 🙂
  11. Nice @ADF! I'm fitting my Nitrons this weekend, albeit on my S2. My plan was to measure the platform heights as well and when fitted, adjust to match. It'll obviously be going for a full geo alignment afterwards as I'm also changing a number of other suspension parts at the same time! RE the ride stiffness, I was going to set them to err on the side of soft to start with, but interesting to read you found the springs too stiff still. You'll have to drive mine to compare when we next meet up!
  12. Loving the look of that cover - seems quite different to the one I previously had on my Evora as it completely covers the wheels and appears much smoother! @Bibs what are they like these days to fit an Elise S2?
  13. Would be good to see some interior pictures at that mileage
  14. You can fit 195/55 R16 on a 5.5" wheel? Mine has 175/55 R16s at the moment. Mine is an early S2
  15. My Lexus comes out at 20995 which is about right if I were to part-ex at a dealer. It would go on the forecourt at about £24k I reckon
  16. And there was me thinking it was just a S' with a wrap 🤭 Looks great!
  17. Very nice solution @grog - but what's your position on spreadsheets?
  18. I would recommend you get a valved exhaust, I had a non-valved one which was awesome, but it did drone between 30-40mph mph and cruising on the motorway, so made for uncomfortable driving at times. Beyond that at higher revs it was truly epic.
  19. Don't get me wrong, that's an awful lot value to loose, but it surprises me that people are dropping huge sums of money on run-of-the-mill cars (albeit 90k ones) and expecting their used values to behave differently just because it' an EV? Or have I misunderstood something here? It would not have occurred to me to think they would be any different to a normal car in terms of depreciation.
  20. I too feel your pain though my children four are still all under 12 and for me it's leaving the lights on, doors left open and leaving their mess wherever they go!
  21. For regular use, I think the N/A would be better. The S does have more grunt and it does show but you'll pay for it at the pumps, I once saw 29mpg from my S on a very long run, but other than than it was 20mpg; just about fine for a weekend toy but the costs add up quite quickly the more use it, which you'll want to do! This is just my opinion of course!
  22. I pretty much like all Evoras but that Matt black one does absolutely nothing for me!
  23. Looking good!! You may have seen me giving you an enthusiastic thumbs up from a white Lexus driving toward you!
