Having a wobble...

Will just contribute on the cold grip front. Mine is still wearing the Yoko Advans on the back and Avons on the front that the PO had on (desperate to wear them out and get PS4S on) - was very surprised when the back came out round about 30 degrees on me the other day with very little throttle prompting whatsoever. Was probably about 5C and roads gently damp with air humidity. Snapped back into place nicely enough but I'm never mad keen when you go sideways without expecting it 🤣

PS4S work in nearly all conditions in my experience. Certainly aren't giving up much before <5 degrees. I'll be switching to them in spring and running them all year round after that.

Winters are very grippy in all conditions really but I'm just not convinced that it gives enough of the right feel. This is on TS-860P.

@Goatboy - keep the car!!!!! You’ve got new dampers for it after it all 🙂

As Dean says give the Evora a chance and time ? I still take my 9 old and on a couple occasions  6ft older son & girlfriend on a long trip do car can be adaptable ?

Thanks everyone for your thoughts. Appreciate your input.

The Evora has a stay of execution forced upon it with the lockdown. I fear that I may have made my mind up though. I have had folks contact me about buying the car (who have been very patient with my indecision!) and I am very tempted to take the plunge now and sell up but with being unable to travel and being unable to socialise there is no real way to do a transaction now so it has until mid Feb at least.

Changing role at work currently as well which may impact commuting (unlikely) but they may help me form my final decision.

I took the car out for a drive today as it was a bit warmer and a couple of extra degrees made a fair bit of difference to the grip as did being committed enough to get some heat in the tyres, still not as sure footed as it is in the summer but that must be true for all cars.

It really is a fantastic car, but not sure it fits my life right now...

Do what you gotta do bud. Sounds like you’ve made your mind up, so go and get that hot hatch that suits your lifestyle right now. And perhaps in a few years you’re ready to change up again and a sports car is back on the table.

That is the way to do it @r3nault. 'Er indoors now has a Swift Sport... she did have a RS200 Clio but it never saw more than 4000rpm so was rather wasteful of the 200 horses. At 11 years old and prices firm, it seemed best to let someone else enjoy it.

The Swift ain't a patch on the Renault but good enough for the money.
