.but I don’t understand why in one box of rice krispies there are 2453 pieces, and in the other one 2467!

You need to count the krispies at the checkout to make sure you aren't being ripped off. 👍

Going back to the age issue I mentioned yesterday, that worldometer website reported the following mortality rates for all positive tests in China up to and including February. OK it’s not the latest data but gives a good indication of what is happening.

80+ Years old 14.8% (one published paper put this at 21.9% for laboratory confirmed cases)

70-79 8.0%

60-69 3.6%

50-59 1.3%

40-49 0.4%

10-39 0.2%

0-9 no deaths

With regards to Italy Bloomberg reports that 99% of deaths are for people with existing illnesses. As of 17.03.20, under 30 0 deaths, 30-39 5 deaths, 40-49 12 deaths, 50-59 56 deaths, 60-69 173 deaths, 70-79 707 deaths, 80-89 852 deaths (mainly 80 year olds), 90+ 198 deaths (this is not a big proportion of the population).

So basically the chances of a great many people of school or work age dying from it are pretty remote.

In fairness both population density and international travel was much, much less. But I agree. Our parents and grand parents did not go into meltdown the way our current generation of selfish snowflakes has.

Oh shit. You can get it from the internet!  😂😂😂😂😂

Didn't you know,? You can get anything you want from the internet!

Next weeks lesson will be .... indicators.

I think herd immunity kicks in on this one.

Anyway can't you catch diseases off dirty indicator stalks?

Just wash your phone (or keyboard for the over 80s) in warm soapy water for 20 seconds after every site and your browsing activity should be quite safe.

So all old people stay at home, kids go to school and learn stuff. working age adults go to work and make stuff and earn stuff, and everyone who is not old contributes to helping the old.

Oh, that's a progressive society model isn't it?  No wonder we're all doomed as the working age adults are causing panic and hysteria with panic buying and worrying themselves to do death over nothing really.  Where's Darwin when we reallky need him....

My comments and observations are my own, invariably "tongue in cheek", and definitely, sarcastic in nature. Therefore, do not take my advice, suggestions, observations or posts seriously or personally and remember if you do, do anything, that I may have suggested, then you have done this based solely on your own decision to do so and therefore you acknowledge responsibility and accountability (I know, in this modern world these are the hardest things for you to accept) for your actions and indemnify me of any influence, responsibility, accountability, or liability, in what you have done. In other words, you did it, so suffer the consequences on your own!

Younger people may not die from it but they are very good at spreading it. We have the grandkids every weekend.

I'm hoping that I've already had Covid 19 and am now immune. (not contracted from the grandkids)

I keep hearing London will be going into full lockdown tonight, I have heard this from several areas.

There’s a local tradesman who drives his work van to the pub near our house at about 11.00/11.30am for an early liquid lunch every single day of his life (inc. weekends). He’s there now. He can’t be far off retirement age, but you can tell that nothing is going to stop his routine.

On a related note, I would never hire him to do any work in my house. You probably get 3 good hours out of him in the morning and then a right load of old rubbish bodges when he comes back smelling of booze in the afternoon!

Was that from the same people (who read the Mail) who think that London is going to have food drops from helicopters? That would be some big ass choppers to feed 10m people!

I’ve heard it elsewhere, that troops are being bolstered and London will be shutdown from Thursday night.

I didn’t think the school shut down happened until Friday.

I think Downing Street win this game of trumps mate. It may change in the future, but they've said that there are currently no plans to shut down London.

Agree, I do think the briefings have been quite good. They are obviously not telling all, but that would be expected. The CMO and CSO are very calm and professional at giving info. And I think Boris is quite good with all this,

strange times.

A minor thing but anyone with Sky Sports package. Cancel it and they’ll offer it 3 months free at the moment. £100 quid saved so worth a call.

Does it really matter? It's not the UK anyway!

I think there is going to be some massive sales going on in the next week or so! Companies are going to reduce their margins to next to nothing to try to get some cash through the door! Richer Sounds are now offering delivery. As I am on lock down I am going to be looking.
