And they offered him a shit load of money for the role too.

The last thing this Dr needs is more coffee but what he's saying does makes sense. Turns out intubating people isn't really that useful, it's got a high mortality rate and causes lots of lung damage itself but I'm sure there's more to it.

Well yesterday for the first time in a few weeks I had to queue to get off my industrial estate. It seems like most businesses are back to work. I think the rest will return on Tuesday after the may bank holiday Monday.

What about you guys? All back to work? Im not sure about Lotus cars. I know classic are still off.

No one but essential pretty much over here in Australia.

Our coffee shop opens, but it is only one person doing takeaway coffees. Yes. Essential. :)

In theory only certain customer-facing businesses were closed, such as restaurants, gyms, electrical stores. So, all the other businesses were free to carry on as long as they maintained the social distancing rules.

The world really has turned on its head, I've found that I believe / agree with something said by Donald Trump (the China death count bit), I'm not convinced either way about the origin.

I haven’t driven anywhere for 4 weeks. I have walked the kids to the park every couple of days. It has been noticeable how much the volume of local traffic has increased in recent days: pretty much back to pre-lockdown levels. That’s a very bad sign. It seems that many folk have now decided to ignore the Government instructions, despite the 3 week lockdown extension. Mums driving their kids around, youngsters messing around in their hatchbacks, drug dealers back to their old tricks etc. And all this during the middle of the working day, so very few heading off to or back from work. I can’t speak for longer distance travel on trunk roads etc., as I haven’t seen an A road for 4 weeks.

What does make me laugh is the lack of people on buses. They still seem to be running the same smart big luxury double deckers on the cross county routes. Yesterday I watched 4 go past in 30 minutes. They were carrying a grand total of zero passengers between them! There’s no risk to the bus drivers round here!

The first Monday in May isn't a bank holiday :) they have moved it to Friday to coincide with VE day.

It's normally at this point, after seeing a series of pictures like that, that I sit on the kitchen floor in front of an open oven door thinking it's time to switch the gas on and turn off the lights.

Probably a good job that the wife then reminds me that unlike the hob, the oven is of the electric fan variety. Doh!

The garlic's like praying - didn't cost you much if it didn't work...

Oh and the loo roll.

Don't vampires spread cv19? I mean they're not into social distancing at all are they?

under the current lockdown, you’re not allowed to drive somewhere in order to do your exercise

Yes you are. The official advice is you can drive somewhere to do your exercise but the time spend doing the exercise must be considerably more than the time spent on the journey to get there.

In other words, if you drive the beer garden/park for 15 minutes there and back, you then can;t walk 100m to the park bench, settle your arse down and have a picnic as that is not exercising.

To keep on topic, I would not be touching that job with the car on stands. That could end up with you in A&E, then Intensive Care, then in a morgue with Covid. Now is not the time to do stuff that might put you in hospital!

God doesn't want me, and the Devil isn't finished with me yet.

Yeah maybe I wasn’t clear, what I meant was “I’m not going to attempt sorting the job on axle stands”, I shall wait till my local mechanic or a Lotus dealer reopens, although the way things are it’s looking like that could be quite sometime.

There are much more serious issues out there than fixing cars.

Stay safe everyone.

Well I went for a walk around the block earlier before starting work. It would appear that the builders and gardeners are starting up again. In a half hour walk at around 8  O'clock there were 3 sets of builders back working on the extensions/renovations and 2 lots of tree fellers/gardeners. Also noted  a couple of the other projects had been worked on since I last ventured out for a walk.

Blessed with the competence to be a slave to the incapable.

Currently without a Lotus, Evora 400 Hethel Edition in Racing Green with Red leather and 2010 Evora N/A in Laser Blue and 1983 Lotus Excel LC Narrow body in Ice Blue all sadly gone.

They’ve never stopped round here. I believe that as long as they’re working outside, they can do their jobs. My next door neighbour had his front garden manicured yesterday, and a bloke down the road who’s house is covered in scaffolding still has builders working on his fascias.
