Just how all modern car LED's look on film - Cameras wil usually be configures at 25 frames per second with a 1/50 shutter speed and LED's don't sync with it at all!

They’re the cast wheel as I understand that will be used on the Base model, so maybe part of the first batch of those that will be used for testing? Might be an i4 model?

I love that colour and spec and it would be my choice too, if only I could afford one! Maybe one day...

I need to give up trying to explain that this car was built got a specific demographic. For those people the car is amazing.

For everyone else, the majority of sports car owners, Lotus owners, Porsche owners, flippers and tyre-kickers.. please move the xxxx on and get the car YOU want.

I don't hear a "tirade, vitriol and badmouthing of this stunning car" either.

What I do perceive is that there are quite a few early depositors who are complaining about poor communication from Hethel. And probably quite rightly too.

He's certainly smitten with the car which is high praise considering what else he has in the garage. Half the price of just the options on that Ferrari too!!

My ears heard a clear emphasis on the words "I paid" in that phrase - fair enough, fully declared.

Right, let's see: Ferrari options cost, clearly given in the video, £117,667.  Half is £58,833.5.

Am I wrong in thinking that is an unexpected price?  The video clearly gives £77,145 as the Emira list price. So Harry paid just 76.3% of list??

Hmmm..... that's more than £18K discount. For what, I wonder?

All clearly stated, fair enough.  But I'm left with a question.................

He pretty much states he paid £77k too so perhaps his mention of half (which you could say he corrected in the graphic added after filming to state 65%) was an error. It's the only point in the video a graphic is added so it would make sense that it's there as a correction rather than refilm the clip. That aside, who cares what he paid, if I were Lotus I'd give him a deal as you can imagine his coverage is going to be great marketing for the car if he happened to like it, which he turns out he does.

I did similar for Lotus with the Evora and the cars were actually free! Trouble is, I did have to give them back after 3 months per car but it did get a lot of views and people could read an enthusiasts views and experiences of the car, plus large numbers of people saw the car at large motoring/Lotus events, marketing expense well spent you could say.

Agree with Bibs here. I think Harry is generalising with his 'half the cost of the 296 options comment' - which he then clarifies with the on screen text. I suspect his profile gave him some special service from Lotus (changing of his chassis spec from sport to tour, for example) and perhaps a bumping up the build queue, but I suspect he paid list for the car. 

Even if he didn't, who cares? 🤣

Bibs, surely little point in discussing what someone “might have said”, don’t you agree?!

What Harry does say, and with considerable clarity of expression and emphasis is:

“……..and the price, the price I paid, is half the……etc, etc”.

A previous video of his shows the special reception he received when collecting his car. It included some mention of his particular car being identified during production as a “VIP one” (in my own phrasing).  I’d be surprised if, when complete, his car had not had correspondingly special checks and road tests - before dials were reset to zero. Certainly would have done if I’d been managing matters.

So, in the context of Harry’s very explicit statement, I see no cause to question the price he states that he paid.

PS: And re "who cares what he paid" type comments................ really, I can't take those comments seriously given the role he has adopted re the Emira. Come on!!

I also take his comment re the price of the Ferrari extras as a generalised one, with maybe a bit of poetic licence for dramatic effect! As per Bibs, this is probably why he inserted the actual price paid later just so somebody wouldnt query it...............

And again, I dont care if he got a special deal, got bumped up the Q, had more checks done on the car etc etc. He is doing a great job for Lotus and and the Emira and Im quite happy with the price point of this car for what you get.
