At the bottom the box where you type your reply, it says 'Drag files here to attach, or choose files'. That's what you want.

I tried that,  couldn't drag a picture and don't think you can do a direct picture upload. I will try again.

Loving the car Jenna as you'd expect as I've just bought something similar. A couple of things though.....the colour coded ashtrays and armrest are........eh different!?

And I've got to ask, as I'm another pedantic pain in the arse........what's the story with extra stretchy mirrors!??

Clearly this is when you comd back at me to say......."I bought the car for the ashtray colour and mirrors!"

lovely car - great choice?

Well the mirrors are by Turbo Racing by Vitaloni. I like them alot.  They are very flexible to your position. The inside is getting all new rugs  from those Kensington folks in UK. Obviously some dumb ass played games on the interior. Trust me it will be right before I am done. They tell me lots of stuff can happen to a car in 32 years,, Who would have thought. I have never smoked and would never allow it in my house let alone my car not ever. I have a new top headliner because the one in the car is smoke stained from a heavy smoker. If I get custom door panels done there will be no ashtrays. Right now the funds and effort are going into the get Penelope on the road work only.

If I had the cash right now, that would be on the way to my garage!  Looks great.

My comments and observations are my own, invariably "tongue in cheek", and definitely, sarcastic in nature. Therefore, do not take my advice, suggestions, observations or posts seriously or personally and remember if you do, do anything, that I may have suggested, then you have done this based solely on your own decision to do so and therefore you acknowledge responsibility and accountability (I know, in this modern world these are the hardest things for you to accept) for your actions and indemnify me of any influence, responsibility, accountability, or liability, in what you have done. In other words, you did it, so suffer the consequences on your own!

It seems 80s chavtastic Fords are in favour at the moment.  At last weeks Silverstone auction this Escort RS Turbo went for over £60,000.

And this old Capri went for £23,600.  Bonkers!

This Éclat / Excel made £13,500, so at least they're getting some recognition now.

I bet the Excel just about covered the restoration costs. The Capri I can almost understand as it was quite a famous one developed by ex-Lotus F1 driver John Miles and in a unique colour. The Escort however, bonkers. Surely, somewhere, there must be the sound of a bubble popping?

In the garage no-one can hear you scream

Just been looking at Fezz car prices in the UK.  Back when I bought my Esprit in 2003 I was tempted to buy a F360.  They were flooding the market back then.  Saw a nice one at Talacrest in Surrey for 30K, others were around 35k.  Was thinking, if only I had another 10k to spend.

Just looking at prices yesterday and the cheapest is around 50k - Golly.

Anyway, I haven't lost anything on the Esprit to the point that it would make a nice little profit if I did sell.

Thanks Ruud.

Last car on page two is a red S2. Whilst trying to avert my eyes from the checker plate in the engine bay I noticed an odd looking inlet manifold. Anyone know how/what/why it's like that?

Who knows - all I know is if they had followed the 308/328 value curves there would be no bloody way I'd be sat in one. And the mad thing is the esprit was faster than these cars in the day??

It would seem that some old shonky escort is now more costly than most Stephens esprits.

s1 values have gone mad though. Not so sure about s2 and s3.

I really wanted a g-car, but now im really glad I've got a non carb turbo unit.

But I love my carb G car 83 turbo all the more now,,

Dear GTK,

you asked about the odd looking manifold.

At exact this Position there are my injectors (on a Turbo Motor build before 1986)

I think Lotus has designed the original edge for this purpose.

In this case you mention, it could be that the one who made this simply wanted to have access to each inlet for synchronisation.

Because one of these ports are use with a tube.

Makes total sense Wolfgang, thanks for the picture. Looks like someone welded in extensions with caps in them on the red one. Obviously it grew an injection manifold at some point. Noticed they have what must be a vacuum take off coming from the far port and have blacked the intended vacuum take off on the near port. Anyway, nice to see that a non original S2 is seeking €21k

Jonny, I've just upped the agreed value on my Esprit to £25k without a question asked. Was £15k last year.

Even decent stags are £15k - tr6 £15-£25k for a really good one. Ford escorts - now mega money.

its all moving upwards - just who's gonna be holding the baby when it crashes.

however - hsbc and a few other investment funds are advising folks to move money out of the stock market and take profits now based on the oil prices and general uncertainty. I can see the classic market continuing upwards. Maybe not the multimillion stuff - but the lower to mid range classic market could double in value pretty easily. When folks move this money it's gotta go somewhere
