As a Norfolk resident (and Driving Instructor) I am fond of telling my pupils that if you drive in Great Yarmouth the nearest Motorway is in Holland.

That's the US, now.  And they think it's expensive.

We tend to drive a lot more than the average for the UK...  The first year I owned my Esprit, I put on 13,500 miles on it, and another 15k on my daily driver.  Now I drive the Esprit about 7k, and my daily about 20k.

Petrol/gas in the US is still better than half the price is it in the UK (I think, litres to gallons & £ to $ confuse my little mind) so I reckon the average 13k a year UK driver is probably still thinking you've got it lucky with fuel prices!
