They have to pay for your car as they are insuring the 3rd party. I've found it much quicker to go direct to the 3rd party's insurer rather than involve mine, apart from informing them of the accident.

When you sell a car, make sure that you stop the insurance, because if you don't and the car then is involved in an accident and has no other insurance cover, your insurance company is on the hook for it, and they will chase you for the cost - even though you don't own the car anymore.

Bizarrely, the tax was renewed for a year on 1st May, 3 days before the MOT expired. It passed the previous 2 MOTs without so much as 1 advisory so I wouldn't have thought there would be any real problems this time around - maybe they've simply forgotten.

It does happen and sometimes it's no fault of the owner. For example my BMW (pure coincidence, honest!) was in for a service and MOT and at the paying and handing back part I asked if it had passed okay with no problems. The muppet with the suit on said it was all okay, so I paid and left. 6 months later when it came time to tax it I discovered it had no MOT, the imbeciles at the BMW main dealer didn't do the MOT at all. I had been driving up and down the country blissfully aware, until I wasn't.

But didn't you think it odd that the garage hadn't given you an MOT certificate for your records? 🤔

Or the absence of an MOT charge on the bill? 🤔

You'd think so right?! I was just happy the other work was done and the paperwork was all stapled together so a verbal confirmation was enough for me.

Learned a few lessons that day; always check the paperwork and that even main dealers can be a bit shit.

The small print.

My comments and observations are my own, invariably "tongue in cheek", and definitely, sarcastic in nature. Therefore, do not take my advice, suggestions, observations or posts seriously or personally and remember if you do, do anything, that I may have suggested, then you have done this based solely on your own decision to do so and therefore you acknowledge responsibility and accountability (I know, in this modern world these are the hardest things for you to accept) for your actions and indemnify me of any influence, responsibility, accountability, or liability, in what you have done. In other words, you did it, so suffer the consequences on your own!

After a few weeks caught the little bugger digging holes in my lawn. Still another one about 100 yards away to go.    Here we are talking of those sweet cute moles......

Was the first I have caught for a few years, but only in the last couple of months 2 seem to have made a home in my actual garden. Have caught ones in the past and have found 2 dead on the surface. Certainly have at least one in the field as well and there must be at least another 2 in  around 150 yards up the road. At least they are not a protected species....

So did the pro use traps or the poisoned 'pseudo' worms.

Traps - the half tube type. Apparently one of the tricks is to find the routes to the feeding grounds and mine them (sorry meant trap). Trying to catch them where they feed is pretty hopeless unless you are very lucky.
