Happy today !!

Well in about 5 hours I will be heading South with the Volvo and trailer to finally collect the S1 from the paint shop. So if you see a strange looking vehicle on a trailer wrapped up like a cocoon in the next 48 hrs, give me a toot. It wont be a Lotus mule. It will be one very tired dude on his way back to gods country with a pristine Monaco White Lotus Esprit S1 which I understand may well be up for sale shortly. 1,136 miles in 24 hours. Here we go.

Fricking Nora - ain’t you got a paint shop closer ???

The guy specialises in glass fiber and turns out some fantastic work at sensible prices. He spent his apprenticeship on Corvets  and the last 20 years on them so knows how to treat the material. 400 photographs of a detailed restoration process. The guy had a few hickups along the way. Moved premises, went off ill, had a family bereavement which unfortunately all added to the original timescale. But he has assured me he has turned out a fantastic job.

Got a test drive at 1pm with Snows Lotus to compare an Exige S ( I wanted a 350 but they dont have a manual, so it'll do ) with an Exige 380.

The main reason being, I love the look of the carbon seats, but not sure I'd find them comfortable on a longer trip, even less so for the mrs who doesn't appreciate the "rawness" of cars xD

should be a good afternoon, luckily their Exige S is in a colour I don't like (yellow) so I don't have to worry about making a rash purchase :P

I went to Snows Lotus in Southampton, spoke to Michael - very nice guy!

Had an absolute blast in their Exige S and have decided I definitely want an Exige 350 now. The 380 hurt my fat ass/legs the moment I got in, so that's a no no.

He took me on a lovely country blast, both had some fun and a good chat and got so see some nice dealer stock - Feel guilty about not being in a buying position currently, but this cemented my mind in that I want one.

A customer went hard into a corner in 3rd gear on a track day, hit the rev limiter and cause of the speed, had no oil. this was the result apparently!

In other words, you did it, so suffer the consequences on your own!

My daughter announced her engagement and I am paying for the engagement meal where I meet his parents for the first time. Which is ok. But they have chosen the most expensive place I know. Bottles of £100 wine and champers here I come!! Yipes!

Splendid news!

And London isn’t really that far from Norfolk. I’ve heard they even have trains that go there.

Bloody hell. Who would want a train when you have a Lotus to blast Down the road South.
