That's the Idea Rog! She wants to ride route 66 in a couple of years when she has enough experience riding a Hog. I think we will both be getting Custom bikes as I am too old for racers now.

Got back from 460-mile round trip  London-Skipton in the Elite 2.2, for family wedding ; didn`t miss a beat. There are other issues with it but I am happy it got us all there and back in style.

Waved to a late-model Esprit on the way back (the only other Lotus seen in 460 miles-oh, hang on that`s not very happy as such...)

Finally got the garage and all its contents clean of dust after making the bed.

I've been up on a Sunday since 8.45. Hung the washing out, mowed the lawn and now relaxing with a coffee before trimming the hedges, cleaning the car, going to the gym, mopping the floors and meeting up with MJK to discuss his book!

 

Never knew Sundays could be like this! Normally laying in bed with a hangover!

Found "my" original owners manual today - the one I bought once I'd got the car in 87 as the original one had gone missing. it's from 1984 and has the service history since then. I now have two, as I bought a US spec one earlier this year.

 

Has a full wiring diagram in it.

Looked in a box today whilst tidying up and found a number of cassette tapes from 20 years ago. Hmmm.... thought I'd binned them all.

 

Are they are still playable?. The Esprit has a cassette player ........... yup they are all OK, that's a result.

 

Also found my Esprit Service Notes in another box.

I now have as many cars as digits on one hand, and as I'm from Norfolk I'll remove any ambiguity, that is FIVE.

Two years ago (approx) I had 10, so in terms of the plan to reduce the fleet, I think this is great progress, it may momentarily blip back to six cars but if so it's just while I swap daily drivers.

Got my Ensoniq sampler back from the repair guy. Just old fuses that had packed it in. All working again.

Looked up a gearbox part I was missing for my Europa, finding it was hens teeth rare-

then I found it in a box with some other spares...

Found that the headlight control module was just about to fall off under the bonnet when I removed both lift motors to replace the drive bushes.

$51 for both kits which gave me new drive bushes, and new gaskets for both the motor to gearbox and gearbox plus some silicon grease in a little plastic baggie for lubricating everything.

Saw a real Lamborghini Countach this lunchtime while I was walking the dog.  It was parked outside a garage that specialises in European cars.  There was an open-top Mucielago outside it the other morning but the Countach was more special.  Nd, yes, it was a real one.  I could see the engine through the slats in the bonnet.  That car neve lost its drama.

Watched my Daughter Graduate yesterday, in Central London and Barts and the London. I now have to call her Doctor and I suspect that she will be earning more than her old dad within 3 year max, well done Laura!
