I sat in a meeting at the houses of parliament with the mp for sport last year.

In the hour that he sat in on our meeting he said nothing, played with his Blackberry , looked bored and made his excuses to leave as his PA beamed at him - I want his job - I believe the salary is ok !

Porn star? Pay is crap (I'm told) but there are a few perks. Trouble with that is staying up late.

Well that is what I felt like saying for a laugh, but decided not to, so how about my real fantasy achievable job which is relief Captain on one of those huge floating gin palaces that Abromovich or Gates & co have. Spend most of your time at anchor but what seriously big boys toys. The scenery generally looks class and even if they treat you like the hired help the pay is okay and beats all the crap I have to live with.

1st Choice - Test Driver. Any Supercar/Hypercar manufacturer. Not fusy at all.

2nd Choice - Quality Control Tester - Cohiba Cigars.

3rd Choice - Quaterback - New England Patriates (NFL)

There are plenty of jobs I would not want to do for more than a day, e.g. working on an assembly line, cashier, security guard, motorsports photographer (you have to be in the right place at the right time or the picture is gone and you are trudging round carrying loads of equipment in all weathers for hours), burger taster at McDonalds, beer taster at Budweiser, telesales operative, etc.

What I would like to do for a day is be an avenging angel, Minister of Transport (or what the current equivalent is), Cindy Crawford's gynaecologist (more than a day and I might be struck off), unmarked traffic policeman appeals to me to, disc jockey at a strip club (I doubt the pay is good enough to do it full time), demolition expert. Any of those would do.

Al..the great thing about being Captain of such a gin palace is that, most of the time, the Owner isn't there!! You get to play with the boat, all they do is pitch up once you've got to Monaco, Nice, wherever...so it's almost like having the thing yourself!! Personally, I've been trying hard to think of a job I'd like to do...but it seems that all the things I'd want to do I have managed to fit in already...I always had a hankering to fly into space, but the reality of it has made it less attractive...stuck in a thing the size of a small bathroom with several others; probably classifies as a cruel and unusual punishment under the Geneva Convention!!
