Now added the GregsRaceParts grilles as well as their lights I had installed previously, thanks to a friend for the very neat bending of the grille tabs to fit

Am I the only one thinking those lights are, erm, gash? I much prefer the OEM version.

I like them, but then I have them. I think they are very "clean" looking.

😀 be boring if we were all the same - but personally never liked the OEM "pepperpot" lights on my Cup Elise and the fact the Evora uses the same shouts cost cutting to me as well as naff design ☺️

I’m sure many Ferrari’s had the same tail lights which looked like Lotus copied anyway for the Elise initially, so if good enough for them to put a family style appearance on the rear view then so be it for Lotus (IMHO)

A joint visit to Port Erin today

There’s a random link to Lotus history at Port Erin. It’s where Nigel Mansell built his mansion “Ballaman” back in the 1980s. I guess it was a tax haven. He still seems really tight with his money today.

On a personal note, around that time, my brother and I went on holiday to a two bedroom apartment at a timeshare hotel at Port Erin. We went by public transport (train to Lancaster, bus to Heysham, ferry to Douglas, bus to Port Erin). When we got there, we realised that there was nothing to do. Fortunately the two local girls on Reception were equally bored, so would sneak into our apartment in the evening and sneak back out again the next morning… To be honest I have no other memories of the holiday!

Had a 2bular exhaust fitted yesterday. I was hesitant to make the change because I like look of the original exhaust so much, but now it’s done I really like the twin pipes

I've posted these 2 pics already in the "What made you happy?" thread but I'm sure 'over again is not forbidden' is the appropriate rule of thumb here as they're relevant in this thread too.

My Evora is finally back, after 92 days languishing in a body repair establishment having a nose job after having a BMW X5 take a shortcut over it rather than going around it in a car park way back in September 2022 - yes, it can take that long to get parts even when they're needed in a hurry,  .

Anyway, it's back now looking better than ever, especially sporting its 'new look' for 2024. The bodyshop was mixing up the batches of Laser Blue and Piano Black paint anyway to paint the new bumper and the repaired clam so I thought we might as well take advantage of that and not let any excess mix go to waste,  .

 

The Sahara Sand effect in this one was an 'added extra' courtesy of a passing rain shower,  .

which one did you fit, has it got the valve? I'm interested to know what they sound like if you could upload a sound file. Thanks

Yeah of course,

I’ve got the non valved fitted.

To my ears it’s made a really nice difference at lower revs, it sounds deeper and fuller than the original. Also sounds great at higher revs too but I thought the stock did, and to be honest I don’t drive at high revs that often (I need to get out and have more fun)

Its more noticeable on motorway journeys but not in any way unpleasant to me and I’ve done a few long journey since having it installed and comfortable the entire time.

I was unsure what difference it’d make before installing because I don’t think any videos show the difference clearly, but I’m chuffed I changed to it and the really pleased with the noise now.

Thanks so much for the clip. I think it looks much better than the stock unit and sounds deeper in tone, great. Must look into getting one.

@E18VRA just food for thought : I went the other way and kept the OEM back box but added 2bular headers and sports cat.

It’s deep in tone and a little louder, but more importantly (for me) the character of the power delivery has changed. 

It still has a stinking mid-range, but as you might expect it breathes more easily at higher RPM so now pulls hard to the 7.2krpm redline rather than the power feeling like it’s starting to tail off. 
 

Definitely a few more horses being released at the top end too.
