What made you UNHAPPY today!

I've seen our company review denied claims , realise that the denial was in line with terms but that it wasn't what we meant to be excluded. So go back and pay the claim and re-write claims handling rules so that future equivalent claims get paid straight away.

OK, that's not common, because often the denied claims are, shall we say, questionable.... For example the phone in question was in use several times a day for all visible history, then all activity stopped and 48hrs later an insurance was taken out and unluckily the phone was then damaged....... Thankfully most customers are not like that.

You've used my builder then?

@Colin P - joking apart, as I said in my post when I needed them, my insurer was there and did a good job. Credit where it is due and just to give them more spotlight it was Morethan who did more than enough.

In other words, you did it, so suffer the consequences on your own!

Having to deal with Sky TV. What a nightmare.

Turned a simple request to cancel (out of minimum contract term, by about 10 years) into what will now be a full complaint to Chief Exec, and turned me from a happy customer who was simply leaving to get a better deal elsewhere, into a never-to-return type of detractor ex-customer.

Re insurance. Have always wondered how the insurance companies have got away with calling policies fully comprehensive when they are nothing like

hindsight: the science that is never wrong

Sky the same as Virgin then! Second rudest and must aggressive conversation I ever had was when trying to cancel Virgin. The women was basically trying to convince me that without FTTH I would lose my job and my family and be unable to watch any programs on streaming services ever again...

The rudest still goes to SSE who, when I rang up to tell them that they couldn't read a meter and perhaps they might spot that they were over charging me by a factor of 10 and it would be impossible for one house to consume as much gas as they were charging me for, they flat out called me a liar and accused me of trying to scam them!

My 40 year old Seiko Automatic Chronograph wristwatch that I got as a present from my parents, now both gone, has ticked its last tick and cannot be repaired. Parts are no longer available.

That's a real shame as someone who's spent fare to much on watches over the years I feel for you as I to have my old uncles WW2 Eterna and did manage to get the correct plexiglass replacement I would be heart broken not to be able to keep it in working order

Sorry to read that Michael. Am not a watch person* - having lost both my parents over the last few years, I can understand the link that is now lost.

* although I wish I still had my Club Team Lotus watch I received on 17 Jan 1989 as a leaving gift from work

The watch was given to a repairer in the shops near where i live. It was sent away to, I presume, a specialist repairer. After a month, I got the response that it could ne be saved.

Having said that, I am a stubborn bugger. I am going to make an enquiry directly to Seiko and I may trawl the internet and see if I can find anything myself.

I saw a similar model on fleabay for 850 Euro. Quite astonished actually.

Yes you may well be able to get a secondhand movement if it was a popular model.

If all else fails which I hope it doesn't and not wanting to hijack this post the new Grand Seiko SBGR253 is a cracking watch hope you strike lucky

Found him. Have sent details for a quote. It will quite likely be more than the watch is worth but.............

Surely it's not about the financials but the sentimental/memory value that is more important?

Unfortunately I did start a little early today, so drinking faster is maybe a little irresponsible.  Tonic lives in the fridge, but my gin collection is rather large and i never know which I might want next.  Tracy has said no to the booze fridge.  I sort of understand.

Perhaps you shouldn't be looking for a booze fridge but a chilled display case? 👍
