Well, hello everyone; I am finally on the hunt for an Evora 400 after coveting this beauty and beast for far too long!

I see that there are several sub-£50k list prices for these cars now and it looks like the market is picking up.

The silver one at Aston Workshop has had another price reduction to join the club and a couple in Metallic Grey have just shown up, one of which is a higher mileage example at Lotus Glasgow listed at £46.5k. After seeing the grey Sport 410 at Silverstone recently i found that I liked that colour more than expected, especially with the carbon roof and tailgate, so I think it likely goes well with the black pack.

I really love the Elise Blue one at Hilton and Moss however it is an automatic which i am not looking for, but they also have a manual in Metallic Grey; this is listed at £57.5k though albeit the mileage is only 6560 miles, so it will surely remain out of reach and that is close to stepping on the GT410's toes which I would rather go for if I had the funds. They have sold a few Evoras previously and I heard that they will be acquiring more Evora stock.

The 400 will deliver joy in white black red yellow or any of the colours Lotus painted it in 😁

Thank you. Whilst I agree with your sentiment I am going to have to quote this part of a recent e-mail that I sent because I laughed out loud when reading your comment:

I know for sure that I don't want black, solid red nor solid yellow in any variation though. I expected to like metallic white but after seeing it in person with the black pack I didn't particularly warm to it either

🤣

I didn't hate the white though and if push comes to shove I'd still buy one in any colour if all other options failed! 🙂

Welcome to TLF, Shaun. 👋

Good luck with your hunt. It might also be worth putting a post in the 'Evora Wanted' section:

https://forums.thelotusforums.com/forum/211-wanted/

You might be surprised by what you are offered!

Good luck if you are fussy about colour, I was desperate for yellow one both my searches (S then 400), probably spent a year looking overall and not one came up.  I ended up with a black 400, far from my first colour choice but it ticked all the ther boxes.  It's not that I dislike black cars, they look amazing when clean but they show the dirt so badly.

Of the current ones on the market, I do like the look of the Silver one https://www.pistonheads.com/buy/listing/16011392, love the wheels and the fact it doesn't have black pack but MOT checker suggest an NI import and I think when it was first advertised it showed a gap in the service history (unless I've confused it with another).  That wouldn't completely put me off but not convinced the price reflects those issues.  Love the Hilton Moss one for the same reasons but was beyond my budget @£57.5k, they've had that car at that price for months, though, might be prepared to do a deal.

Red interior on this one https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202401185681246 would probably be a no for me but, were I still looking, I might be prepared to overlook it.  Autostrada one looks excellent value @£44.5k and 33k OTC is hardly starship.

As I'm writing this, just had an email alert for a new ad on Ebay, yellow GT410 Sport:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/235403426396

...now, other than being ~£10k short of funds, that ticks all my boxes, somebody give it a good home please 😭

100% would recommend popping a few wanted ads/posts out on here and the Evora Facebook groups. When I was looking for an Evora a few months ago I had lots of owners offering me cars not on the market.

Welcome to the forum, you may find your answer in the Market watch thread just below. I expect the mods will merge your post with that thread anyway. Good luck with your search.

Hi

Im after a 400 and a couple of  caught my eye.

https://www.parkerprestige.co.uk/our-cars/17296054-lotus-evora-3.5-v6-400-2dr/

Anyone know these cars, their histories etc? Any owners on here?

Cheers

Don't know the cars but the black one looks very good value.  I've commented before but the rear tyres look near the wear markers from the photos, @ ~£300 per corner for rears, it's worth checking.  Also, mine had a MOT advisory for pitted discs coming up to 30k OTC, they were replaced before I got the car but you're looking at near to £3k for discs + pads all round, plus labour, and that's specialist parts supplier prices.  The black one does look as though it's still on original discs.    Even so, if you walked away with it for ~£49k with new discs, pads and tyres all round it wouldn't be too bad.

Blimey. Discs and pads at 30,000 miles. Discs should last 60,000+ in road use. I replaced mine at 68,000 on Evora, it wasn't £3k, much less inc labour at B&C.

You need an honest mechanic on discs. A lot are replaced totally unnecessarily.

Agree, they should be good for twice that, had it been my car at the time, I'd have just ignored the MOT advisery.  Problem comes when you're selling, MOT advisery's there for all to see and any buyer is going to be put off unless it's been done or priced accordingly.

Evora N/A or S has solid discs ~£150/pair, 400 onwards have 2-piece; can't say I've noticed the difference.

The yellow is called Solar yellow and is a pearl / metallic paint which is clear to see ……….. when the sun comes out!

Admittedly I am not 100% sure of the colour names nor all of the typical choices for the 400; I did find a brochure for the GT410 which featured Solid Yellow, but whether that's the same one just renamed I don't know.

There was a lovely looking black one with yellow calipers, an alcantara interior and if I recall correctly it had matching yellow stitching, but it appears to have just found a home: https://hofmanns.co.uk/sold-car/lotus-evora-400/

Whilst I am not rushing, I won't wait for a year for a perfect one to maybe come up, but there are several colours out there that I really do like rather than looking for a specific one at least.

@Bravo73 @TrevS Thank you, it could be worthwhile as just posting in this thread has brought some attention. 🙂

I will also make it known to a few good dealers in case they have some stock coming in, as I do consider the warranty that comes with that.

He originally wanted that grey one that’s for sale for £57k but the garage wouldn’t budge on price he offered £55 which was the top we agreed he would spend but they refused lowest he would go was £56500 so he said no. Had to be very low miles and 1 / 2 owners in grey , black or white.

there was a 22 plate from Ireland which had sat in Ballyrobert lotus since 2016 then registered in 2022  but it had changed hands 3 times in quick succession so he gave it a miss.

He went for the black one at Hofmanns.

My husband bought that black Evora at hofmanns. He works abroad and flew into Uk on Friday afternoon and collected it and drove it 10 hours home. Got home yesterday at 2am with a smile on his face. This is our first lotus. We used to have motorbikes but after having kids gave them up so this is to try and plug the gap and allow him to have the kids along too. 🤣

Oh forgot the photo .. a bit mucky after the long journey up to NE Scotland.

Congratulations with the new car it seems like the wise choice.

Thank you for sharing that information about those grey ones; I was a bit suspicious about the 2016 car with the 2022 registration myself and I remember it being for sale for ages previously.

Lovely cars but could someone update me on the "chassis no.2 of only 3 cars" bit?  I'm confused by that as there where 27 iirc cars in RHD for the Uk market, and a small number more where LHD for EU.

I came into this world screaming and covered in someone elses blood. I'll probably leave it in the same way.

The small print.

My comments and observations are my own, invariably "tongue in cheek", and definitely, sarcastic in nature. Therefore, do not take my advice, suggestions, observations or posts seriously or personally and remember if you do, do anything, that I may have suggested, then you have done this based solely on your own decision to do so and therefore you acknowledge responsibility and accountability (I know, in this modern world these are the hardest things for you to accept) for your actions and indemnify me of any influence, responsibility, accountability, or liability, in what you have done. In other words, you did it, so suffer the consequences on your own!
