This one I presume.

Looks nice. Description is good and MOT history is clean. The airbag looks like it's on it's way up and could be used for negotiation I think

is STILL for sale. I would possibly have had a go at buying that but they messed me about something chronic and never did get back to me after various calls to them! Was what they called cheap @ £67k hahaha. Possibly slightly more realistic now but v unsure about its' history??

It used to belong to a TLFer. He owns a company making carbon bits for mountain bikes so made his own front and rear spoilers. ISTR that he traded it for an Exige or an Elise Cup.

The owner of that was on here. He owned his own carbon fibre company manufacturing stuff for bikes and made the front splitter/wing in carbon himself iirc.  Nothing dodgy about the car as far as I can tell or remember from the time.

God doesn't want me, and the Devil isn't finished with me yet.

The small print.

My comments and observations are my own, invariably "tongue in cheek", and definitely, sarcastic in nature. Therefore, do not take my advice, suggestions, observations or posts seriously or personally and remember if you do, do anything, that I may have suggested, then you have done this based solely on your own decision to do so and therefore you acknowledge responsibility and accountability (I know, in this modern world these are the hardest things for you to accept) for your actions and indemnify me of any influence, responsibility, accountability, or liability, in what you have done. In other words, you did it, so suffer the consequences on your own!

Welcome to TLF, Paul.

Have you got a link to the car?

Sorry! My bad.

Yes, that's the one. Good spot on the airbag? Is it a simple fix or new airbag?

That's a lovely example at a great price.

That's kind of what I was thinking.

Looks a lovely car and registered in Oct 2010 like mine and 2 letters away from mine which was also a Lotus management car initially when I bought it nearly 9 years ago with just 3k miles on. If mine is anything to go by, and it would have been on the production line at the same time, then it will be a "goodun"  Mine has been super reliable for the 30k miles I have done in it with no issues at all.

That's really cool. And so cool that yours is a two owner version of this one.

Hopefully they were having a good day in the "office" that day

I think you'll have to have a look at the airbag in person. I don't think it's 'up' yet from that picture but it's certainly starting to lift so would need to be protected from the sun vigilantly I believe at this point.

Not an easy fix. If it needs doing it's a new airbag cover and the dash out.

See it in person though, it's hard to tell how far up it is from that picture.

Airbag is also a MOT failure if compromised, so a must fix. IIRC, Bell and Colvill said it was around £1K fix, as mine was done prior to my purchase.

My pax airbag cover was up slightly on the bottom left hand corner when I bought it - its still like it now, and whilst I would prefer it didnt stick up a little I have kind of got used to it.  `its never had any probs with the MOT. I will get round to a fix at some point, but I dont lose any sleep over it  :).

I’m not sure about a £1k fix either. The last I heard, it was a couple of plastic clips and about £300 labour to get the dash off then back on.

Or, if you’ve got the time and inclination, a DIY job.

I really want this car! It’s Daytona Blue like my first Evora Which I loved and all the Komotec kit is a big plus for me. I gave them a call last week but they were extremely uninterested in my 2016 400 as a potential part ex. I suppose having this one in stock for well over a year has put them off a bit!

Airbag: I looked up the bill from Bell and Colvill re airbag. £965...the part was over £600. This was an internal invoice within Bell and Colvill, as PDI prep. They gave me a copy as they know I like all the history of a car.

Perhaps some 'pop' and can be put back but B&C put a new one in.

Airbags are an MOT failure 'if obvious sign of fault'.

I would suggest research on this if you are considering a car which shows signs of lifting of the passenger side airbag. My info may or may not be correct but no harm in asking a Lotus dealer or specialist before you buy. Especially ask if existing can be put back or is it a new one each time.

Is this about the going rate for a 430GT? I am not sold on the colour but love the look of the car.

There was one in Scotland for £78K recently, but yes this seems to be where they're at.  Not that I'm keeping my eye on them or anything 😏

£78k seems like a great buy.  I was really drawn to the 430 Cup but I now look at the GT430 and wonder if it may be a little more liveable as a second car. Both are fantastic looking cars, its hard to be sure whether the Cup is liveable long term until you have sent some time living with it.

Must have been a different but identical one they had for sale last year 😜. Both adverts were also identical with those sales words that would put me off straight away “AT THIS PRICE WONT BE HERE FOR LONG, CATCH THE EARLY BIRD PRICE ”

I agree @Neal H. If I was the Dealer I'd take it off, wrap it up, and hand it to the new owner "if they wanted it".  Not saying it is poor workmanship or anything, but just looks a bit much.

To be fair, the ONE thing I do not like about the GT430 is the rear wing. Much as I would love a GT430 I think that wing would be off and some nice shaped rubber grommets in the screw holes.

@PaulCP Personally I'd ditch the wing and then nab a carbon 410 engine cover off eBay to replace it. Job done and will look epic.
