Whilst I’m not a fan of Horner, in fact I can’t stand his smug little face, I do think that the system is at fault.
Why can he be named in a case like this but not the person who is making the allegations?

There is always a feeling in this country with these cases that someone is guilty until proven innocent with the media always in a rush to hang them before the facts emerge. For all we know the person making the allegations might just be a snow flake gold digger who sees an opportunity for a big pay out

Exactly the same with Russel Brand. The media hung him out to dry without a shred of evidence which then resulted in a few other, possibly snow flake gold diggers, possibly not, jumping on to the bandwagon.

The media should be silenced until the investigations have taken place.

I totally agree with this @PaulCP. Whether I like someone or not (I can't abide Horner or Brand) they should be allowed the same "identity protection" as the accuser. Even if nothing comes of the allegation, and it is proven false, Horner's reputation is now marked and there will always be a suspicion. It is totally wrong.

You have to assume that this was leaked by someone in the Red Bull team. So RBR should undertake a full review of who knew what, identify whoever leaked this, and sack them for gross miss conduct.

The small print.

My comments and observations are my own, invariably "tongue in cheek", and definitely, sarcastic in nature. Therefore, do not take my advice, suggestions, observations or posts seriously or personally and remember if you do, do anything, that I may have suggested, then you have done this based solely on your own decision to do so and therefore you acknowledge responsibility and accountability (I know, in this modern world these are the hardest things for you to accept) for your actions and indemnify me of any influence, responsibility, accountability, or liability, in what you have done. In other words, you did it, so suffer the consequences on your own!

Absolutely.

I happen to think that Horner is the best boss in the F1 circus. That aside, if he’s found to have been a naughty boy, he must face the music, and I hope the process is carried out by the book.

But shit always sticks, and even if he’s cleared, it might be enough to end his career.

Agreed.

We've made it easy, almost consequence free, for the accuser, and some warped people do use that to their advantage.

Let's see what the investigation decides. RBR did seem to move swiftly to bring in an independent Barrister to conduct that. They have responded responsibly and seriously to hopefully uncover the truth, for good or bad.

Further complicating matters is the strained relationship between Horner and Jos Verstappen, Max Verstappen’s father. This family dynamic, coupled with Max Verstappen’s loyalty to Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko, adds layers of intrigue to the unfolding drama. The leak of the story to a Dutch media outlet hints at deeper undercurrents influencing the narrative.

I wouldn't be surprised if Jos had a hand in this. Awful man from what I have read.

Considering that Horner and Newey are sort of tied at the hip. RBR shall be very prudent what they wish for, if this is the final nail in the coffin between Horner, Marko and the upper management at Redbull. The leak is timely.  But the long term effect on Redbull could be devastating.  letting go of Horner may not at the desired effect if Newey decides to get out. Last time Newey was not heavily involved with the design it did not go so well.

It's funny but every time a car and driver truly dominates, something seems to conspire to break the dominance.

It happened to Schumy, Vettel, Hamilton and could this be Verstappen?

Jos and Helmut are 2 people I've never taken too and they may regret this. But then again...

It's funny but the 2024 season hasn't turned a bit of rubber in anger, yet we seem to already have more action and drama than the whole of Season 23.

Holy shitze!!! The team with arguably the worst name in formula 1 since HRT team racing team has come up with the best livery of 2024 so far.

spacer.png

The team once known as Minardi, European Minardi,  Scuderia Toro Roso, Scuderia Alpha Tauri and now VCARB has painted its car entirely... In blue, white and red... it is very reminiscent of the Toro Roso 2017 livery which was one of the best of the year back then.  The team has also acquired an slew impressive new of sponsors: Visa, Cash App, Hugo Boss, Tudor ...  And with the continued presence of Honda and Orlen, pretty much looks the part of a semi factory program.

Why do they need a pink and a blue version? Does any other team have a "home" and "away" kit?

So is this the Exeter chiefs or the squalls, or is it wrong of me to differentiate? I just presumed as they were wearing the girls kit.

Of course it's difficult to tell these days...
