So I finally had a response from my local Dealer,  and I'm pretty stoked, he says that hes going to check with his rep to see what or if any incentives are available.   On or about November he suspects theyll have something in stock, when he gets back to me Monday, I'll be trying to take a day of leave to head down and see if we can come to an agreement on securing it in my name.

 

I know it's not a big deal for most of you where Lotus is in abundance,  but I'm pretty stoked and wanted to share.

Perhaps we need a Username amnesty? You could soon be “Jason is driving”. Mine’s also years out of date and refers to having a Lotus both in my left garage and my right one. That stopped being the case 5 1/2 years ago!

Well, there is always an Apex to chase, that moment of the perfect setup, that perfect line, that perfect drive out of the corner, there's so many experiences to discover and experience.  But this girl (Provided it works out) First track day?  She's there.

Took a bit for my car to arrive.  I put down a refundable deposit in Dec 2018. ordered my Evora GT with a larger, non-refundable deposit in Apr/May 2019.  Order was goofed and a silver car arrived at the dealer late Sep 2019.  I was attending the Lotus Driving Academy in early October 2019 and after talking to dealer, Lotus USA and a factory rep - I stuck with Lotus (was offered my deposit back), my car had already been prioritized and the engine was to be in assembly the 2nd half of Oct 2019.  I took delivery in Feb 2020.  I love it. 

I ordered my car, as I wanted a painted roof and black sills - which most are not.  And while at the factory Lotus agree to paint the center piece of the spoiler and front lip (see avatar) body color as well - part of why I stayed and waited.

Sounds like you had the Opportunity to really immerse in Lotus, and a brilliant story.  

 

After having tested one, I believe its without equal as a drivers car.  I do wonder how quirky ownership is, and I hope I don't have too many experiences similar to Alfa Romeo (I'm also grateful that this isn't something I talk about publicly).

 

What's your ownership experience been like?

Excellent. Got a bit over 2K miles so far.  Most of it was a longer road trip.  

- Taking it easy the first 600 miles for break-in was torture.

- Installed the GRP Exhaust pipe (i'm in KY) https://www.gregsraceparts.com/products/grp-evora-400-410-decat-race-exhaust-pipe and black Lotus badges to go with a red car on nose and wheels.    https://www.gregsraceparts.com/collections/evora-exterior-styling 

- A short learning curve on the radio.  There were a couple things I learned, not in the manual, one had to do with the radio recognizing the stick shift car was parked (pull parking brake twice, as I remember).  I made notes in my manual.   Small, VERY small quirk.  :-)

- The rear engine/trunk lid wouldn't always release.  I reduced the tension on the latch by adjusting the 'bumpers?' on the sides of the boot lid.  Seems to be good now,  I just don't get the 'pop-up' when the boot releases.  so what.  It was an old school adjustment, manual, simple and oh so easy.  

That's it.  VERY happy.  Mechanically perfect so far.  The Evora GT has that old school feel with a visceral engagement merged with a more modern/track engineered poise and balance. You can't beat the sound either.  Planning a drive on Sunday for a cars & coffee.

It's a simple sensor, I'd guess you just hadn't pulled it up enough the first time - pulling it up twice isn't a thing. 👍

Toughest negotiation I've had yet, looks like we can't bridge the gap due to my 4c trade in value (Just business), so I'll be looking to sell her on my own, and go from there, 

 

I don't think they're wrong, I think that the gap could be bridged there, but they fear the 4c sitting too long (reasonable).  

 

Definitely becoming a bit of a Journey, indeed.  Just wanted to provide an update,
