Friend of mine made me ground beef burgers mixed with marmite years ago. Sublime.  Pretty much every BBQ now!

My Gran (who died in 1995 aged 95 ) kept telling us that she was one of the first British people to taste Marmite. I think it was a German invention. She said it was meant to be  pronounced "Marmeet" but I never did get more detail.

Discovered a new (to me) Marmite delicacy yesterday, among the pantheon of Marmite greats. Gentlemen I give you, the Dinky Cheese Marmite pinwheel!

 

Available in all good M&S Foodstores and are absolutely delicious. You get 8 in a box and, as can be seen from the pic, you can have 3 boxes for a mere 7 quid - bargain of the century in my book. 

Think of them as a small 'Pain au Marmite'
