I thought the Porsche votes might be people that think the Emira will break just because the sun rises each day.

All we know is that when they stop making this, we will be properly, properly sad.Jeremy Clarkson on the Esprit.

Opinions are like armpits. Everyone has them, some just stink more than others.

So is Lotus ditching the Merc 4 pot and Toyota V6 from the Emira next year?  Sounds very odd as they've only just started making them.

It is just nuance in the meaning of “New models” vs continued production of “existing” emira? I note it mentions “phase out” and “from” next year too in the intro.

I haven’t got access to the paywall so can only see the first paragraph…

Looks like sloppy reporting and PR from lotus.  No new news there

link seems to have gone

https://media.lotuscars.com/en/news-articles/new-‘driving-change’-esg-charter-commits-lotus-to-become-first-established-sports-car-maker-to-go-fully-electric.html

I note the use of the word mainstream in

all future new mainstream vehicles from Lotus will be fully electric.

looks like some boutique petrol

Anyone know what sort of delivery guidance Lotus Cars quotes for a UK customer ordering now (I4 FE if there are any left)? H1 2024?

But remember one thing: don't lose your head to a woman that'll spend your bread: Lotus Turbo Esprit (89-11); Lotus Esprit GT3 (12-14): Lotus Evora S (14-17); Lotus Esprit V8 SE "UK Last 15" (18-23) Lotus Emira FE 400 (23-..)

It's 65-75 weeks at the moment, because of the delay to first customer deliveries and further deposits after the Top Gear feature.  I expect it'll lengthen further after UK dealer demo cars arrive in mid August, as all dealers have lists of people waiting for test drives who haven't yet placed a deposit.

Fair point, but it's comms rather than PR - I try to stick to info rather than vagueness and spin :)

Placed reserve dep for I4 last week and B&C advise delivery will be Spring 2024 😳

It's 84 weeks to 20 March 2024, the first day of Spring - wow!  Previously Lotus used the definition of "Spring" to count right up to late June, which would be 97 weeks, but let's hope it's early Spring.

Thanks. It's the original JPS Team Lotus transporter from early to late 1970s. Now parked in a side road near Chertsey. It's got great low-speed traction but understeers like a North Sea ferry...
