My brother was talking to a Ferrari specialist a couple of years ago. One of his mechanics accidentally dropped a carbon-ceramic brake disc during some servicing work. When it hit the concrete, it apparently turned into a million piece brake disc!

That may be case however the cars I looked had what looked like one piece, cast, possibly it had hidden bolts.

I was hoping that others who have been on the factory tour to add to the thread.

As for the rotors, off the car on the production line they look one piece and yes the document says 2 piece.

They are 2 piece, but not bolt-together. They're cast together, with what look like little spokes joining the hub, to the rotor.

You can actually just see these spokes in that shot above on the blue car if you zoom in.

Well I think the rotor is cast iron, and the hub is Ali, and I guess the pins are something strong, so differing materials.

if these differing materials were riveted together, or bolted, would they be one piece?

However, if you wanna call em 1 piece, that's your prerogative :)

Is everyone happy now?

Another thing, the seats, are assembled in house, the frames are made by the same company as Ferrari, the addition of foam and leather is done in house. The will be two options 12 way for the LE and latter 6 way.

Seem to remember news on here that Lotus were / had, closed down their internal trim shop, including the seats...? 🤔

God doesn't want me, and the Devil isn't finished with me yet.

The small print.

My comments and observations are my own, invariably "tongue in cheek", and definitely, sarcastic in nature. Therefore, do not take my advice, suggestions, observations or posts seriously or personally and remember if you do, do anything, that I may have suggested, then you have done this based solely on your own decision to do so and therefore you acknowledge responsibility and accountability (I know, in this modern world these are the hardest things for you to accept) for your actions and indemnify me of any influence, responsibility, accountability, or liability, in what you have done. In other words, you did it, so suffer the consequences on your own!

The first editions are 2 piece discs and 1 piece cast iron discs are going to be standard fit on base model with 2 piece being a cast option. From memory, they have trims made locally, then the trim, foam and frame are assembled in house.

Wonder what the actual technical differences on the engine are. There was a newer Toyota 3.5 V6 but I don't believe it's that one (as it won't fit as I understand it) and Toyota are unlikely to design a new crate engine for a few years of Emira. Would be interesting to know why it's got a lower limiter in the end. The cynic in me says it's software just so they can bump it up in the future.

The chassis change, they've obviously compromised stiffness for space inside and ease in and out by trimming the sills down. Which is fine if it sells the cars. I doubt most would notice the difference in chassis stiffness.

Would be good to know if the new starter motor is more reliable than the old unit. I suspect you'll be able to make it fit the old car with a bit of tweakery.

I was intrigued to see on Harry's garage video that a lot of the 'personality points' are the same with the Evora. Doesn't like low voltage on the battery and throws CEL. can mist up and take ages to demist. Even the demist pattern on the windscreen was the same, demists passenger quicker than driver side.

There is a different cutout and position in the bellhousing to suit the new starter.
