I recently bought a job lot of antiques and this was in there.

I was stumped, totally. Then a kind person @mayevora spoke to an antique dealer who told him it was a Pflueger Oiler.

No, it's not made up. A Pflueger is a fishing reel invented in the late 1800's.

Muggins here has no idea what it's worth so have put it on ebay at £10 and after one day I already have over 70 hits and 14 watchers. its also been bid on. I may have hit Pflueger gold! Link below if you want to see how it does!

Yup, as I suspected it's for doing lines.

British Fart to Florida, Nude to New York, Dunce to Denmark, Numpty to Newfoundland.  And Shitfaced Silly Sod to Sweden.

Maybe not the lines you are thinking of?

Google lens useful for identifying stuff.

Tried that but they were totally stumped! I often get unusual items mixed in with the job lots I buy and Google is pretty useless at identifying them TBH

I try and add in some humour :)  But also a hint of truth, I have so many collections from WW1 postcards, Toy Cars, Automotive memorabilia, Silver, Antiques, Paintings etc etc that Wendy would kill me if I start another :)

Stunning.

That sky is a typical sunrise for me, my kitchen french doors look due east and we get some magnificent hues in the morning at breakfast.

I came into this world screaming and covered in someone elses blood. I'll probably leave it in the same way.

The small print.

My comments and observations are my own, invariably "tongue in cheek", and definitely, sarcastic in nature. Therefore, do not take my advice, suggestions, observations or posts seriously or personally and remember if you do, do anything, that I may have suggested, then you have done this based solely on your own decision to do so and therefore you acknowledge responsibility and accountability (I know, in this modern world these are the hardest things for you to accept) for your actions and indemnify me of any influence, responsibility, accountability, or liability, in what you have done. In other words, you did it, so suffer the consequences on your own!

So widely available now, compared to 10 years ago in UK. And more diversified range.

Totally delicious, every product a winner, even the ice creams which I'm not especially partial too usually.

But one slip and you're a pancake with red berries and strawberry sauce all over you.

Bonkers.

But then people really have died doing that shit. Imagine arriving at the "gates" and Peter says the good news is you made it to heaven. The bad news? You only got 100 likes.....

Darwinism. I see no problem with someone taking a chance as long as there is little or no risk to others.

One could argue the costs to society: rescue teams, paramedics, hospital care and whatever. But it the long run it's just a one time occurrence instead of a constant drain on resources. 😁

Did you not see the picture I posted? You might get a sore ankle if you fell off, it's not that high.
