Following on. It's a done deal. Two weekends of ceremony and celebrations (food, wine, and a keg of home brewed Nelson's Revenge, I might add) as both our kids hit the university finish line in the same year, so double raise for us! 😋 She with a double major of Biology and Psychology with minors in Environmental Science and Chemistry is an unabashed bird nerd and off the the wilds of Wyoming as an interpretive ranger to jumpstart her career as a budding naturalist. He, older, took a more circuitous course with 3 changes of major, 3 school changes to finally hit his stride and calling in Mechanical Engineering Technology, which combined his previous interests in computer science and engineering into one go. He led a multispecialty team to complete a senior project of designing and implementing a Foosball table with mechanical and AI controls to challenge a human player (just search OSU AI Foosbots on youtube..). He's a whiz at coding, 3D printing, and now AI among all other things that boggle my mind. They are polar opposites but together will bring balance to the Force.   Good kids and I'm starting to think there may be hope for mankind after all..

I have just received the best software support ever from Directory Opus (gpsoft.com.au)

I've been using this software since at 2009 - it's a File Explorer replacement. 100% recommend it, not just because of the support, it is the most useful utility I have ever used.

Scenario: I rebuilt my PC a couple of weeks ago - new motherboard, cpu ram, gpu - reinstalled the software and applied the licence - which was all good. Worked as expected.

Today I needed to report an issue re the new motherboard to the manufacturer, and wanted to include some images, however, because OneDrive (and images) is having issues, I thought, sod it, I'll just upload the images to my ftp site, and link to there instead.

Software stated Not enabled for "Advanced FTP". (i.e. secure FTPS) - I don't use FTP all the time, maybe once every couple of years.

So I thought, bugger, maybe I bought this under a v11 (or earlier) licence rather than v12. Nope on checking, v12 should have a full FTP licence, so I posted up on the forum as "I have an issue".

Less than a minute later a reply from a developer, and my Issue solved within 10 minutes - which is the time it took me to d/l, reinstall, and get the licence online, rather than the one I had from 2018.

@ChrisJ Read that post twice now and I still have not the slightest clue about what you're talking about. Tried putting it into a google translation tool but got the same blank response.

@ChrisJ, actually that looks like a really useful tool! Biggest limitation of Windows Explorer for me is crap folder size reporting. WinDirStat shows an excellent graphical indication of dir and file size, really useful when expunging big unwanted files. Maybe we need a 'This Software's Quite Good' thread

@RobinB5 - very customisable views -  folder size/no of files etc. 2 panes (multiple tabs), very easy copy/move. There's a meta data pane that you can edit the properties. Viewer pane - very useful. Powerful search function, pane filters, plus favourites as well - and these are just the ones I use.

@Bazza 907 - great software utility, fantastic support.

Yes mate thats not a good image but thats the one. It's done in Traditional Egg Tempera which is a medieval form of painting using traditional watercolour powders mixed with egg yolk. It gives it that "Oils" look without the oils. She even uses the proper powders, not modern ones, so the red has lead in it etc.
