Finally started white washing/painting the inside of the dusty bare concrete and breeze block garages today - Only been saying I’ll get round to do it for 10 years. 
I know I’m going to get more satisfaction out of doing the garage than I have from recently doing the whole of the inside of the house - but that could just be a bloke thing lol. 😁

Having had my first Jaffa cake for decades.

I have a citrus allergy so I try and avoid anything with citrus in it (smell is enough to get audible creaks from the nose cartilage as the airways inflame). A discussion led me to check what flavors there are now, and 24 hours later, I've been to Tesco and obtained both cherry and Passion fruit ones.    

At long last, there might be a reason to look in that otherwise pointless 4 feet of the biscuit display.

My wife found a clinic that got me in a month sooner than my previously scheduled Covid shot. One down as of today !!!  (for someone with type 1 diabetes, asthma, triple bypass and waiting for a kidney transplant -that means a lot !!!  )

Received my building control certificate for my new roof and a change in the kitchen ceiling from flat to pitched. The kitchen roof was done by one builder and when building control came to check it they found so many problems they almost took enforcement action. Has taken a while to get it rectified by another builder and had a final visit yesterday to say it was ok.

Contacted surveyors and architects most never bothered replying at all. Not impressed by them either.

The ridge beam was not big enough, the wall plate was on the outer wall not the inner, no vapour barrier and insufficient insulation to meet current regulations. Cavities not closed. Needless to say will not be using the first bloke again. He was recommended by the roofer as the builder bloke does all that sort of construction work for him.  So had to pay twice to get the job done. Will now see what my options are.

Option is simple. (1) I wouldn't have paid in the first place and (2) strongly worded letter saying you have had to put their defective work right at your expense and see you in small claims court. End of. Hit him hard and fast.

Some day I might actually get my certificate of lawfulness to change my flat garage/portico roof to pitched. Deadline was 8th Jan. 8th Feb got apology and will prioritise next week. Chased last week, still nada. 
 

In the meantime leaky flat roof deposits fibrous chipboard debris on the Evora whenever it rains. 
 

Can escalate but that takes 3 months minimum. FFS I hate the fact that councils are a law unto themselves and you just cannot hold them to task.

My 911 fanboy car chum bought his first Lotus on Saturday.......a carbon grey 2013 Elise S. His resistance has been worn down by years of Lotus rides and Lotus talk. It will be his only car in London...........but he has use of my Twingo 133 to assist when needed.
