Some Esprit related pictures from my childhood.

'The spy who loved me' Series 1, taken at Belle Vue, Manchester, in about 1979-1982. I remember that there was a hole in the body work, under the rear bumper, I always liked to think it was a result of the pyrotechnics used during filming. Whether this was the original car used, I don't know, it does have the correct registration and there was a board with a write up on it, but I can't remember. I believe two complete cars were supplied by Lotus, although I thought it was Colin Chapman's own personal car that was used for filming. May be someone reading this knows what happened to the originals, I believe Elon Musk owns the original submarine car.

Outside my local chippy last night

Finally finished the desired design for project Kermit, I tried the wing extensions slightly more narrow but it did not give the same effect.

Mixed in some wing, spoilers etc from another kit.  Sadly until I get my cars and bits shipped over this is the only lotus fabrication I can do lol. 

This design will be built on a badly damaged S2 that was stripped for parts by a breaker.  Basically the work will be the same as the model, extend the wings and glass fibre in the gap, 

Sills will be aluminium, Wheels will hopefully be S2 speedlines cut up and built up to 17" and 13" wide rear 10" wide front.

Not one for the purists, but the 80s group 5 cars I have a lot of love for the designs.

Anyway here are some pics just need to change the design from 1.24 to life size lol.

Nope, sounds like a classy lady though so would be happy to buy her a bottle of bubbly and talk cars. Nothing else mind, just talk cars.  I'll get @Chillidoggy a rum, or maybe he can make dinner for Shan and I as we talk cubic inches, BHP and the merits of superchargers v turbochargers.

I bet Shan gets bored quick though as my encyclopedic knowledge takes all of a minute or two to exhaust (sorry, no pun intended)
