I'm an expert in spouting shite. Does not make me special or mean you should take on board what I say as I'm in good company as the internet is full of millions of people just like me. Some are even better at spouting shite. Some have better shite to spout. Some have more shite to spout. But at the end of the day, it's still shite!

In other words, you did it, so suffer the consequences on your own!

If the above image was true and it's just paranoia to cause wearing of face masks, why did we have medical staff becoming infected and becoming severely ill through lack of masks etc, and if that's paranoia then perhaps we don't need to wash hand after going to the bathroom as very few people in this country die of things such as dysentery.

I don't know?  Maybe it's for the same reason that most people who die in hospital actually die from something other than the primary reason they were admitted for. in other words, you put people into a closed cycle environment full of people who are ill and infected and holy shit of shits for some unknown, unfathomable reasoning, some of those healthy people get infected, get ill or even die. WTF? Who would have thought that.....

Also, the converse, how can you have 300 people on an aeroplane or other similarly "small closed environment" where they are exposed to a virus but only SOME of the people exposed get ill?  Again, WTF? Are their superpeople out there? Why did they not all get ill and die?

Life is full of shit we can reason about, we can rationalise, but we cannot always fully explain.

I understand its very late in the day Chris. it should have been introduced much earlier but it is what it is now. But it still needs to be done.

Don't go on holiday to Spain, their police fine you e100 immediately if you ware not wearing one. Then e600 the second time or if you argue. My friend who lives there has seen whole prisons full of British Holiday makers who have refused or argued with the Police as they then get locked up. You even have to wear one in a restaurant and remove it to eat then put it back on.

Its the way its going to be moving forward. Like it or lump it. The more people who refuse the worse it will get and eventually the Govt will introduce strict measures like Spain.

@Kimbers - I agree, why the flying pig would you want to go to the a bloody airport, sit on a plane and go to Spain (or Greece, or anywhere else) for a frickin' holiday the way things are right now?

And then, when you get there be the arrogant British tw@t who argues that because they are on holiday local rules and everything else does not matter and everyone can fcuk off because your special?

I honestly hope the whole feckin' lot of them catch COVID and then the Insurance companies tell them to FRO and they are left to pay for their treatment locally etc...

Apologies if this sounds harsh but these people are fcukwits in my very humblest of opinions.

To put it in perspective it's my wife's 60th in September. We had a huge holiday planned to Boston, New England, etc. 3 weeks of real fun for us. But we've been waiting for BA to extend its voucher for departures to end of September. They announced it last night on Facebook, finally, and already I have applied for and received my vouchers. Neither my wife nor I had any desire to spend hours on a plane to arrive somewhere we COVID is still prevalent.

I just need to learn to be more passive and just except that a large part of society are just fcuking muppets that hopefully Darwin will catch up to!

Here's the legislation: https://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2020/791/made - published late yesterday, and expires after 12 months.

Masks to be worn in:

A Shop - but not in

  • restaurants with table service, including restaurants and dining rooms in hotels or members’ clubs,
  • bars, including bars in hotels or members’ clubs,
  • public houses.

Enclosed shopping centres

  • excluding any area in that building which is open to the public and where seating or tables are made available for the consumption of food and drink.

Banks, building societies, credit unions, short-term loan providers, savings clubs and undertakings which by way of business operate a currency exchange office, transmit money (or any representation of money) by any means or cash cheques which are made payable to customers.

Post Offices.

But not in:

  • Public libraries and public reading rooms.
  • Premises providing professional, legal or financial services.
  • Premises (other than registered pharmacies) providing wholly or mainly medical or dental services, audiology services, chiropody, chiropractic, osteopathic, optometry or other medical services including services relating to mental health.
  • Veterinary services.
  • Cinemas.
  • Theatres.
  • Museums, galleries (other than for the sale or hire of artwork), aquariums, indoor zoos or visitor farms, or other indoor tourist, heritage or cultural sites.
  • Nightclubs.
  • Dance halls.
  • Bingo halls.
  • Concert halls, exhibition halls or other public hall.
  • Conference and exhibition centres.
  • Indoor fitness studios, gyms, dance studios, leisure centres, indoor swimming pools, water parks, bowling alleys, funfairs, theme parks, amusement arcades, indoor soft play areas, skating rinks or other premises for indoor sports, leisure, adventure or recreation activities.
  • Indoor sports arenas or stadia.
  • Casinos.
  • Hotels and hostels.
  • Spas.
  • Nail, beauty, hair salons and barbers.
  • Tattoo and piercing parlours.
  • Massage parlours.
  • Storage and distribution centres.
  • Funeral directors.
  • Photography studios.
  • Auction houses.

I'd have thought that a fair number of the above exclusions are a lot more "risky" than shops.

However, as I'm not going into any shops, I don't have to wear it., and therefore I'm doing my bit to not expose others to me, as the mask is not to stop you getting it, but to stop others catching it from the wearer.

I do, however, expect the mask wearing requirement to be extended over the coming weeks, and yes, when I come across a situation when it is required, I will wear a mask.

  • Well, it's only on public transport - what's your problem ?
  • Well, it's only on public transport and in shops - what's your problem ?
  • Well, it's only on public transport, in shops, and all public indoor spaces - what's your problem ?
  • Well, it's only on public transport, in shops, and all public indoor spaces, and all outdoor public spaces - what's your problem ?
  • Well, it's only on public transport, in shops, all public indoor spaces, all outdoor public spaces, and when outside of your own home - what's your problem ?

Interesting that in Wales you don't have to wear masks (yet) in shops. Hope this is still true the week after next.

I agree with you re the foreign holidays. We had planned on going to the USA right now, but I delayed making any booking in January until I saw how the land lay at Easter. We could have gone abroad, but again decided not to due to the situation, and have a short break in the west of England (close to Wales) coming up instead. We have put a swimming pool up in the garden however.

Just poped in to Leigh-on -Sea where some like to think they are very special as they like to think its Hoxton-on-Sea (you can get a lovely wind chime, but not a pint of milk) a fair number not wearing masks. So will be avoiding there.

Not sure who said it - wearing a mask now is a bit like wearing a condom to the baby shower - but it's now in place to reduce the risk of a second wave, not a time travelling hindsight device to take us back to before it all started. Certainly should have been implemented much much sooner but remember the medical services really struggled to get sufficient PPE. They would have had no chance if the public clamoured for them too.

That "science teacher" that Buddsy showed is complete tit, totally biasing his test methodology to fit his own predetermined outcome. Science teacher indeed. I bet he specialises in young Earth creationism too.

And it isn't PPE that the general public are being told to wear. It is a bit of cloth over their mouth and nose.

How many supermarkets have been shut because of an outbreak of this Chinese virus?
