Gordon Murray Design offered Lotus i-stream. No-go.

And obviously Lotus really need to do their own chassis, it's truly the Lotus DNA. Elite 14, Elan 26, Elise 111 - it's all about the chassis.

Yes I was not referring specifically to the chassis, but some bits of GMA cars could be nice (like, I don't know, the Cosworth engine for instance :D)

SMMT have today released the new car registration data for March, Lotus registered  152 new cars that's a ytd total of 311  (Assume these are probably all Emira's  and may be the odd Eletre.)

311 is more than the annual total for a few years.

Where is the Lotus data? 

On the SMMT site, By Brand doesn't include Lotus, I assume they are included in "Other British"  But it does include brands like Maxus that has sold 3 cars 2023 YTD.

SMMT dropped Lotus as a separate line a few years ago (also McLaren). I go to

So after spending 4 wonderful days on the Absolute Lotus Highland Tour, I can vouch that Emira's with the Touring suspension can absolutely shift. I spent the 4 days hooning and they looked superb and went like stink.

The only downside, as agreed and mentioned by the Emira owners themselves, was that they just could not compete with the noise from my Sport 410! 

I'll do a write up and some piccies, but my god, the organisation, the enjoyment, the route, everything. It was truly superb! I'll definitely be back next year on it.

Sounds a great trip, and i must sign up to AL.  Any Emiras on sports susp there (im very glad I chose Touring) but was wondering from your comment if any Sports susp cars were struggling with the road surfaces.

@Whitey - the two Emiras ( a red one and a grey one) were both on Touring, I assume, as they both had the Goodyear tyre. The grey one was being driven by an avid track day enthusiast who tracks all over the UK and Europe and he had no complaints at all re the setup.

I will say the nimbus grey is a remarkable colour. It changes so much due to the light, going from an almost bright silver in the brightest of sunshine to a beautiful bronze colour when driving under the tree canopies. I'd never dream usually fo buying a "grey" car but that nimbus, lovely!

The Goodyears can be had with Sports suspension (it’s what I’ve got), so you can’t assume that.

If they had the Cup 2s, then they definitely would have Sports, as you can’t option Cups with Touring.

Going by the finance deals on offer I’m guessing Lotus have no problem selling all their build slots for the foreseeable. Great news. Anyone know when they will start delivering i4 FEs?

Was at Goodwood 2 years ago, look forward to finally seeing one on the roads.

First UK customer i4 FE's are currently planned for July builds - rumour has it that there's a batch for China early on too, and I would guess dealer demonstrators and press cars before that too..... Recent factory tour attendees have reported seeing many i4's on the production line.....

Just paid my £3000 Configuration fee for my i4 so certainly looks like things are moving forward OK with the Merc lump.

Any idea roughly from other people that have their Emira's on the lead time from paying the config fee to actually getting the car?

I paid my i4 config 2nd deposit in April 2022🤣 but was asked to reconfirm spec in”My Lotus” last week. I’ve been told August 2023 build…. Original order placed on Goodwood Thursday 2021…..

Thanks Jim, yeah I ordered mine before Goodwood so hopefully we'll receive ours at a similar time, at least we know it will be worth the wait.

Not yet. There's been a special edition Eviya but the only change to the Emira has been the release of more colour options over the original six.

That will be the August issue.  I've read that the i4 Emira is looming - a possibility I guess.

Driving past Hendy Exeter, looked like an Emira in one of the new colours  - may be Zinc grey, wife said it looked a bit like her landau bronze evoque.
