Emira Road Tests & Reviews

Strange review that one. The outside road film of the yellow car must have been filmed last summer (trees all in full leaf), so there’s very little coverage of the magma car he is actually driving. Also that’s got to be the worst track review I have ever seen!

Video editor’s very unsubtle use of “B-roll” 🥴

But remember one thing: don't lose your head to a woman that'll spend your bread: Lotus Turbo Esprit (89-11); Lotus Esprit GT3 (12-14): Lotus Evora S (14-17); Lotus Esprit V8 SE "UK Last 15" (18-23) Lotus Emira FE 400 (23-..)

Interesting. When I last checked with my dealer (B&C) in February they said their I4 demonstrator was expected “mid-summer”.

I suspect they are right

I also suspect that will make deliveries slip out of the summer window

Am reluctant to ask for deposit back without driving an i4, but the magic is draining out of the wait

I cannot imagine customer cars coming out at the same time as press / dealer cars

Watch this space - LCS are now openly suggesting that UK i4 builds could be brought forward a month following the delays to US V6 FE certification…..

Luckily  I'm not in a rush. I hope my wait for a 2024 car delivers a fully sorted I4 (with windscreen wipers that work properly)!

Interesting comments in here about the suspension for the US market - do they just get touring set up, but with differing alignment and tyres for their ‘street’ vs ‘track’ choice? Pretty sure shock and spring settings are different in euro Emira with sport vs tour.

I thought the same.

Ive seen with my own eyes the differing springs and dampers of the two chassis options on the factory tour.

Can't believe the US gets a different setup.

Harry showed the different springs for the two setup options during his predelivery factory tour didn't he?

According to Harry’s Garage latest video they are planning to do just that. Have the reviews and press cars go out as customer deliveries start.

or press cars will now come out when first customer cars were intended; and there is a hope that positive press reviews will dampen disappointment with another 3 month delay (into winter)

From reading other posts/forums around i4 deliveries I would suspect either "first customer specification car" for validation and type approval, or possibly a China spec/destination customer car though......

I've spoken to 3 dealers/specialists in recent days about first UK I4s and heard "September", "more likely October", and "I wouldn't be surprised if it's next year". Take ya pick! I know there was a Hethel dealer event last week where they were shown an I4

Fairly positive thoughts from Top Gear South Africa (main criticism as usual is around powertrain)
