Did anyone see the interview on GMTV this morning with 4  of the bereaved ladies who demonstrated in, and who were evicted from the enquiry.

Suzanna Reed was an absolute disgrace, she played on the feelings of 4bereaved ladies, who are understandably looking for someone to blame for their loss. These 4 women all in their 60's and 70's devastated that their parents had passed (ffs how old were their parents), she asked how they felt knowing that Boris was partying in no 10 whilst their loved ones were dying.

I can't bear to watch the pathetic woman.

Average ages of covid deaths was over 80, it really affected the elederly a lot worse. That's not to say younger people weren't harmed and died from it but locking down a nation really wasn't the answer.

The older people who died from COVID, most probably died from a range of concurrent issues. Let us remember that if they tested positive for COVID then that was one of the markers re cause of death, but, not necessarily, THE cause of death.

The purpose of lockdown was to stop transmission, and a young person who caught it, and walked about, could spread it to anyone and everyone, and could be in contact with people who were at a higher risk. So lockdown in that context does make sense. What was the alternative? Quarantine those at risk only, and let everyone else walk around freely?

The party thing at No.10 is just an excuse to beat up the Government. Yes, the muppets were wrong, but I bet every one of us on here knows someone, probably a family member, who broke the rules and continued having a "social life". It was happening everywhere. Yes, those in Government and Authority (remember the Chief Medical Officer of Scotland, wasn't it, broke the rules too) should have held themselves to a higher standard, but then a lot of the "partying" was being done by younger members of the "teams" if you look at the pictures - bless 'em, they were being traumatised by not being able to socialise!

Susannah Reid, and the rest of the toxic, entitled, self important presenters should go and take a good, long hard, look in the mirror. Pure scum at times how they manipulate people with a smile.

I came into this world screaming and covered in someone elses blood. I'll probably leave it in the same way.

The small print.

My comments and observations are my own, invariably "tongue in cheek", and definitely, sarcastic in nature. Therefore, do not take my advice, suggestions, observations or posts seriously or personally and remember if you do, do anything, that I may have suggested, then you have done this based solely on your own decision to do so and therefore you acknowledge responsibility and accountability (I know, in this modern world these are the hardest things for you to accept) for your actions and indemnify me of any influence, responsibility, accountability, or liability, in what you have done. In other words, you did it, so suffer the consequences on your own!

I was talking to a guy the other day about the Stoute family who live not far from here. They run a small healthcare company and were somehow tipped-off the best part of a year before the pandemic that something big was coming up. They managed to get a £3m loan from a bank to fund a bulk PPE purchase from China. The UK Government apparently ended up paying them £1.85 billion for PPE, much of which was never used. They now have so much tax payers’ money swilling about that they don’t know what to do with it. Apparently there’s also a whole lot of bad feeling between the family members too.

Myself and Sparkles often have MIL debates, he clearly wins every time as she lives with him and mine thankfully lives about 10 miles away. Last time i was over there she was telling me about the singer who lives in her fire place who she also doesn't like!!

We’ve got an MP recall vote in our constituency. Frankly it’s the only way we would ever get rid of the MP (Peter Bone, Con), so I am taking the whole family down in the car to sign the petition. 10% of the electorate has to sign it. That doesn’t sound much, but they have made it very difficult to sign. There seems to be only one voting point in each town and it’s only open during work hours (Mon to Fri 9.00am to 5.00pm) and photo ID is obligatory. They have sent out a letter to everyone to explain this, but you can’t just sign it and send it back. You have to contact them to request a postal vote. Hopefully enough people make the effort, otherwise he will be here till he dies.

Bingo. We got him out.  13.2% of the electorate bothered to vote. Considering how hard they made it to participate, that’s a great result. Cheerio you disgusting old twat.

Just an addition to this. He has apparently since tweeted his complaint that the majority of the electorate did not vote to remove him: conveniently forgetting to mention that the majority of the electorate didn’t vote for him in the first place!

Mine is infuriating, dumb as a rock, does no exercise AT ALL, eats shite, has voluntarily sat in the same room as COVID sufferers on many occasions and is, it seems untouchable.  She has twice suffered 'unfortunate' falls down the stairs but is still breathing.

I'm convinced she'd survive a nuclear winter.

Cheating scumbag: the Conservatives have selected Peter Bone’s partner Helen Harrison to be their new candidate to potentially replace him! You couldn’t make it up, could you? The Tories really have no shame whatsoever. Appalling conduct.

What's the problem?   If the constituency don't vote for her, she wont get elected.  And you will actually have an opportunity to 'boot out' the Tories before the next election.

It will be really interesting to see how Reform UK do in that particular By-election

I'm not sure how it is cheating scumbag, presumably the constituency party has selected her, and as Steve says, she needs to get elected first.

It’s just the shear arrogance of the man. He was kicked out of Parliament by his own Party and by the local electorate for disgusting gross misconduct, but is still trying to hold on to power (and the salary that goes with it), by using his partner as a puppet candidate. It’s grotesque and the Conservative Party must surely be appalled by what has happened. This has to go down in history as yet another case of Westminster sleaze.

Boner, his missus and the Conservative Party got what they deserved in Wellingborough yesterday. Their vote share fell 37.6% and conceded a safe seat majority of over 18,000 and even ended up with a deficit to Labour of a comfortable 6,400. Good riddance.

HeCan't say I am a fan of Starmer but this morning on the  BBC he wasn't gloating however he doesn't need need to do anything as the conservatives are losing the votes and the reform party are winning tory votes rather than labour winning them . Do think his dropping the 28 billion pledge because of the mess the tories are leaving is him softening us for when he gets in and will have to drop more of his pledges once again blaming the story mess for his ambitious policies. The next 5 years is going to be difficult for the next government and may well keep the winner out of power for some rime6

@pete - there’s no doubt the tories won’t wish to be in power next time round and Labour will only make matters far far worse.

Not sure I agree with that statement.

Wellingborough: Labour share of vote up 19.5%

Kingswood: Labour share of vote up 11.5%

The Reform Party (formerly known as Brexit Party) didn’t contest these seats in 2019, so every vote they got was new at 13% and 10.4% respectively. There’s no doubt that they are taking votes away from the Conservatives though, which is something Rishi can ill afford at the General Election.

Isn't that what @pete basically said? I'm not sure why you can't agree with his statement you quoted as I believe you're both basically saying the same thing.
