Missing the undertray?

Serious $ figure though.

All we know is that when they stop making this, we will be properly, properly sad.Jeremy Clarkson on the Esprit.

It's nice to see an Esprit get the appreciation it deserves. But at those prices, I fear there's not much chance of the car actually begin driven and enjoyed, more likely to sit tucked away in some garage until it again needs a lot of new parts just to get it running. Unless it was bought by someone like Harry of course. 🙂

I have made many mistakes in my life. Buying a multiple Lotus is not one of them.

Well, that's encouraging. I just paid $78K for a '97 V8 in mint condition, except that it has been stored for a long time and needs some work. I'll probably be into it for $90K when all is said and done (probably $100K including taxes and registration and the shipping costs to get it here, etc.) I expect to drive it daily. Sad that so many of these never see the light of day.  Once I feel comfortable with driving it and its reliability I will probably get rid of my daily driver car.

A beautiful example for sure! Such a shame she's never been driven and enjoyed. And unless she's just had a major service and belts etc, unfit to be driven now so the new owner will probably just trailer her to her next garage...

Having an eye on the recession tendency I am wondering, if prices will still ge "to da moon" or will normalize again.

My wife is collecting pinball machines and we were expecting prices to drop after Corona again, but they are not. They have been rising for the last 10 years and no end in sight.

Everyone is moaning about inflation but it seems there is enough money for luxury goods 😉

I am sitting and waiting 😉

@KaeptnNemo it seems it is the same in Germany as here in the UK. All we hear on the news is that supermarket shelves are empty, cost of living is killing everyone, yadda nanna yadda.

Yet, when i go out with my wife for a meal, or meet my daughter for lunch, the places we are frequenting are always busy. I fly every week for work and the planes are always full. We've just booked a last minute holiday for next week, and the flight is rammed, we got the last two seats on the plane.

It does seem that despite the doom and the gloom on the news, a lot of people are still living their best lives. I know a lot of people are struggling, there are always a lot of people struggling, but it seems a lot are still doing very well thank you very much and the real high rollers are spending as much as ever on expensive hifi's, cars, holidays, etc...

I think the Esprit prices will continue to increase. They are fantastic cars and I do believe they are now starting to get the recognition that they deserve. However, as they move above £50k and towards £75k they are now bumping into other serious contenders such as Ferrari's (360, 328, Dino GT4, and even 430's) and that could be a hard sell. I mean, an S3 Esprit or a good 360 Spider?  Hmmm.............

I came into this world screaming and covered in someone elses blood. I'll probably leave it in the same way.

The small print.

My comments and observations are my own, invariably "tongue in cheek", and definitely, sarcastic in nature. Therefore, do not take my advice, suggestions, observations or posts seriously or personally and remember if you do, do anything, that I may have suggested, then you have done this based solely on your own decision to do so and therefore you acknowledge responsibility and accountability (I know, in this modern world these are the hardest things for you to accept) for your actions and indemnify me of any influence, responsibility, accountability, or liability, in what you have done. In other words, you did it, so suffer the consequences on your own!
