John, I suppose there is a chance that an auto Lotus could be on the horizon,... Type 132/134/1xx..... Be interesting to try an Evora auto or of course an Emira when they actually arrive.  Don't think I'd buy an elite/eclat now anyway (man or auto),  and have owned 4 excels anyway.

My father owned a LHD 524 (one of 11 elite/eclats built LHD), followed by and LHD SA.

the later car being a real improvement. extra fear, cruise and reliability

From a recent photoshoot i did with Classic & Sports Car. The magazine is out now with an Excel buyers guide. There are a few inaccuracies it's but overall it shows the Excel in a good light.

A few pictures from my Eclat's recent trip back to Hethel, en route to the launch of the Eletre. Plus a bonus pic which I think came

And then a couple of pics from a recent quick shakedown drive. I'll post both colour and filtered version, but I'm quite partial to the B&W one. I quite like the fact that inside the car the "LOTUS" on the steering wheel is in the sun with the rest in shade. I wish I could say that was by artistic design!

I had a very pleasant visit today from @Leigh Greenham and his wife, passing by on a short trip in Belgium.

Lovely Elite with a great history! And I got to sit in the same seat as Colin and Mario. 😎

Thank you Filip, it was nice to meet you today on our way to Zolder.  The hotel overlooks the pits so my wife was able to photograph and video the car as I accelerated down the pit lane.  The last time the car was here was May 1980 when it was left at Genk Airfield for Colin and Mario to drive to their hotel and circuit for the Belgian Grand Prix, so it was great to drive on the same roads today....
