Pleased to note that AiB team have discounted Mrs W's M100 insurance again, got a cracking price and all the cover I need so no coplaints from me. They now insure three of my four cars and their other department have stated they can do a similarly good deal on my motorhome when it's due on a couple of months, so we will see.

Thanks again Darren, Nigel and the girls.

Footman James have come back to the party for me. To insure both the Elises, AIB quoted £460, Hagerty were £520 and FJ £310. I mentioned to FJ they were competitive again after being very expensive for so long and they've recently changed their panel of insurers apparently.

AIB - EXCELLENT, not just on premium!

I have paid £199 last year with AIB and recently renewed with them for the same money. Having now crashed my car after loosing the back end near my house, the car has very sadly been written off.  AIB and MarkerStudy (underwriters to AIB) have been excellent. Car had a 'modification' included on the policy but not listed and an estimated value of £14k. I have had no issues with either AIB, Markerstudy or their specialist appraisers they sent out to value the car. I got paid out based on the appraisers discussion with me which was a fair bit over my estimated value from 12 months ago. The appraiser took no notice of my low estimate on the policy and clearly went on current market conditions for my car and its condition which he commented was 'very good'. The car was also just out of MOT which I only realised when making the claim. This clearly made little difference to them which was thankfully understandable given the receipts for service work I provided.

So after initially being extremely concerned about claiming after some of the horror stories you hear about, AIB were excellent and professional at all times and although I am hugely gutted about loosing my car I am extremely grateful AIB made the claim process very quick and straight forward. Great people to do business with and I cant recommend their service enough having dealt with them through both sides of their service.

I was with AIB last year. This year, their quote was £198 but without the UK and European Breakdown. With Breakdown, it would have been the same as last year. £238 if memory serves.

I contacted ClassicLine and they came in at £183 WITH UK and European Breakdown. No details have changed so I went with CL.

Moved to AIB today. Very helpful, fast and great service. Not bothered about spending hours casting around trying to shave off fifty quid, just want it sorted, which they did.

Incidentally it was £319 fully comp, 5k mileage limit, £29k valuation. Admiral (my actually very good - for my accident) last year's insurer wanted £760...

I tempted fate...now my Esprit V8 IS in bits...(sob)

3k mileage and value upped to £20K

@Buddsy - I'd bump it up by another £5k if I were you.

£30k agreed value Ian?

£30k?!?!?

GULP

Remember that agreed value is not market value. That said, try and find another good S4s for sale if you can as a comparison. I found only one, unlike all the common V8's.

Just switched to AIB from FJ. Darren was very helpful (and an excellent salesman...). FJ renewal was £170 AIB came in at £130. Been with FJ for longer than I can remember but called AIB after reading many positive comments on here. We'll see how it goes...

Anyone struggling to actually get a quote from AIB?

I called up on Monday afternoon to get a car insurance quote.  Spent a while no the phone with the rep giving details etc ...   Said he'll call back in an hour or so with a quote.  Never did ..

I called up again on Tuesday afternoon, explaining I was still waiting for a call back with a quote.  I was left on hold for 8mins then the rep came back and said he'll chase it up and get back to me in 20-30mins ...  Never called me back ...  :(

Its Thursday morning now and still no contact from AIB.   I'd like use the advertisers when I can as they support the forum and this great Lotus community but its a bit hard when they won't even give a quote.

Good Morning,

I'm sorry to hear that, this is really odd and not our usual service. If you'd like to give me a call personally on 02380268351 and I'll see what's happened for you (normally I'd just call you but I can't find a quote with the surname electro_boy!).

Look forward to hearing from you.
